NBC has been promoting Persons Unknown as a mini-series and that the show’s mysteries will be answered by the end. The show has not performed well in the ratings so hopefully the network will let all 13 episodes air.
If they do pull the series early, the show is scheduled to be put out on DVD. According to Amazon, it’s scheduled for an August 31st release but that’s likely to change because NBC won’t have aired all of the episodes until early September.

Executive Producer Remi Aubuchon recently told Collider that, when they were shooting it, they did so believing it would be an on-going series. Though they wanted it to go on, he made sure that they answered all of the questions by the end of the first season, to make it a satisfying story for viewers.
Could there be another season? Aubuchon said, “It’s not unheard of, in the course of life, that if there’s enough interest in it, we could consider going a second season or doing another chapter. I keep looking at it as books in a series, and this season is the first book. I feel confident that we will have a beginning, middle and end, in this season, and it was wise of NBC to then call it what it really is, which is a mini-series.”
He continued, “24 is a really good example, in that there was a definitive beginning, middle and end for the first season. They had a slightly different format than we have, but the second season just retained Jack Bauer and a few other players, with the same basic format and idea, but it was a completely different show. I’m not saying that that’s exactly where we’re going, but certainly I think that there’s room for saying, ‘Hey, look, we told one story of a continuing saga.’ You should be able to pick this book up and get to the last line of the season and go, ‘Wow! Well, I hope there’s a second season, but at least I feel satisfied that I got to see all of this. They answered it all for me.”
Unfortunately, it looks unlikely that NBC would be interested in another season but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t return on another channel or in another form.

I started watching this a few days ago on Netflix. It’s a great show and I to would have watched it if I had know about it. It reminds me a little of Lost (greatest show ever made)

Same hear I found it on netflix and have been addicted. The style of the suspense is like LOST kind of. It would be a heartless crime if they didn’t at least do one more season. At least for those of us who loved it. And Im shore their is a huge number of people who like this show. ( if they’re normal ).

OMG I LOVED THIS SHOW!! I was hooked from the first episode! Why wouldn’t you continue the show there are plenty of other stupid shows that come on, this one is actually GOOD!

How are they going to show “level two” and not expand? That left me hanging, and what about the ex? And his girlfriend? I mean come on! If you wanted to end it then you should’ve ended it properly!! Xp

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! I sure hope they continue with the story! We have been streaming it through Netflix and find that we need to watch 2 episodes at a sitting, cause we love it so. Then it occurred to me.. what happens when we watch all the episodes? Darn… another one of those showes that get lost in the shuffle and turn out to be excellent, but are dropped cause of ratings. We would definately like to see more of this story line! No matter who picks it up!
The “mini-series” promotion was totally bogus. It was created in a desperate attempt to stir up some extra viewers for the “finale”.
It wasn’t created as a mini-series which is why so many people were disappointed by the non-ending after the marketing hype.
I love these types of shows and there’s so much that could be continued in this series. Too bad we’ll never see it.
Great Show…Left me wanting more…I heard nothing about it …just stumbled on it on Netflix…I hope a second season is to follow…
I would love to see a season two I want them to do a good job however and take their time I only want them to change they themselves want to change the first season was good and left many questions unanswered.
PLEASE! I LOVED this searies! It was soooo cool! If I had knowen about it when it came out I would have watched every epeasoid, even re runs. if this show doesnt continue, i might die. So please, PLEASE PLEASE!!!!! Give us a second season!
I would love to see “Persons Unknown” continued, but I disagree that they explained everything clearly enough to just end it. With the way they ended it, it makes me want to see what “level two” is all about and what will happen to the ex-husband and how about his girl-friend? Sorry, that would be cruel and unusual punishment not to have a second season on any channel!

thats not fair..they bait and hook you in and then leave you hanging without a net..i guess they left it open with the level two thing….netflix should branch off and become a network and pick up all the good shows like this one..sounds like a money making idea
I’ve been blazing through it on netflix the last two days. I really like it – it’s captivating. I can’t really see it doing well on NBC, though. I think it would be much better on Syfy (to the extent they’re interested in something other than bs ghost shows and wrestling), FX or USA. I would totally keep watching it. I didn’t even know this show was ever on NBC. I stumbled across it in the recommended items in Netflix.
