NBC has been promoting Persons Unknown as a mini-series and that the show’s mysteries will be answered by the end. The show has not performed well in the ratings so hopefully the network will let all 13 episodes air.
If they do pull the series early, the show is scheduled to be put out on DVD. According to Amazon, it’s scheduled for an August 31st release but that’s likely to change because NBC won’t have aired all of the episodes until early September.
Some readers have noticed that the DVD set is titled Persons Unknown: The Complete First Season
Executive Producer Remi Aubuchon recently told Collider that, when they were shooting it, they did so believing it would be an on-going series. Though they wanted it to go on, he made sure that they answered all of the questions by the end of the first season, to make it a satisfying story for viewers.
Could there be another season? Aubuchon said, “It’s not unheard of, in the course of life, that if there’s enough interest in it, we could consider going a second season or doing another chapter. I keep looking at it as books in a series, and this season is the first book. I feel confident that we will have a beginning, middle and end, in this season, and it was wise of NBC to then call it what it really is, which is a mini-series.”
He continued, “24 is a really good example, in that there was a definitive beginning, middle and end for the first season. They had a slightly different format than we have, but the second season just retained Jack Bauer and a few other players, with the same basic format and idea, but it was a completely different show. I’m not saying that that’s exactly where we’re going, but certainly I think that there’s room for saying, ‘Hey, look, we told one story of a continuing saga.’ You should be able to pick this book up and get to the last line of the season and go, ‘Wow! Well, I hope there’s a second season, but at least I feel satisfied that I got to see all of this. They answered it all for me.”
Unfortunately, it looks unlikely that NBC would be interested in another season but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t return on another channel or in another form.

OH, absolutely!!! i thought it would already be being filmed! I got so adicted to this first season!!! A couple of friends recommended it for me to watch and they too were hooked! Hopefully we’ll see season 2 soon!!

My whole family loved this show and thought it left itself very open to a second season…which we have been waiting for. It had interest, action, drama and it kept you thinking, trying to figure out who was behind each treachery. It’s too bad it isn’t coming back, I think with more promotion the show could be a very big hit. Most people I talked to during that first season hadn’t heard of it. Ratings are two sided, the viewers and the promotion; if something is not advertised well enough, it is impossible to gain viewership.
I want to see Persons Unknown season 2. I think a lot of people watched it on Netflix and didnt realize it was on TV. People get busy with there lives. Please continue this series. I love it.
Just finished the show on NetFlix and loved it. Never know it was on NBC (poor advertising at the time on their part I guess). Would love to see a season two!!! Lots to work with from season one..

I just watched all 13 episodes over 2 days on Netflix. I had never heard of this show but it was totally awesome! I want season 2 please!!!!!
The show was totally awesome! I was a big LOST fan and this show is right up there if not better. It was nice that they actually answered my questions unlike LOST. I watched Persons Unknown on Netflix and finished all 13 episodes within a few days. I really hope they have a season 2.
My wife and I really like this series and would like to see it return for a second season.
I would love to see a 2nd season. This was my absolute favorite show, once I found it. NBC did not do a good job promoting I accidentally ran across it on On Demand. A 2nd season would have me as a faithful watcher. I have even had my friends/family catch it on netflix so they will be ready.
It’s be a miracle if season 2 came on. Hopefully if Netflix gets good ratings on Persons Unknown, NBC, if not some other broadcasting company, will think of bringing it back. I mean, you can’t just leave it at “welcome to level 2”!

I would love to see the 2nd season. Last season my family and I were glued to the tv when it came on. It is a great edge of your seat mystery, and my summer would not be complete without it. As a matter of fact my family and I just rewatched the entire 1st season on Netflix just to refresh us, so we could be ready for season 2, and we are very anxiously awaiting season 2.
