How do you like big city living during the first season of the Pose TV show on FX? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Pose is cancelled or renewed for season two. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustration when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we’d like to offer you the chance to rate all of the Pose season one episodes here.
An FX musical dance drama, Pose features the largest cast of transgender actors in series regular roles, as well as the largest recurring cast of LGBTQ actors in a scripted drama. The series stars Evan Peters, Kate Mara, James Van Der Beek, MJ Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, Indya Moore, Hailie Sahar, Angelica Ross, Billy Porter, Charlayne Woodard, Ryan Jamaal Swain, Angel Bismark Curiel, and Dyllón Burnside. It revolves around several segments of society in New York City in the 1980s — ball subculture, Trump-era excess, and the downtown social and literary scenes, as it explores people on various walks of life.
What do you think? Which season one episodes of the Pose TV series do you rate as wonderful, terrible, or somewhere between? Should FX cancel or renew Pose for a second season? Don’t forget to vote, and share your thoughts, below.
7/12/18 update: FX Has renewed Pose for a second season. Details here.
streamed pose in the UK and absolutely loved every minute of it. what a very adictive, emotional, funny, inspiring programme. it’s not very often I get hooked on a series but this drawn me in.
In a lacklustre sea of Kardashians and Survivor type rubbish is this oasis of story telling. For me, this is one of the first times I’ve really enjoyed Ryan Murphy’s work and haven’t quickly grown bored (as I did with AHS for example). The characters are well developed, and it certainly provides insight into LGBTQ life in NYC in the early 80s. It touches on the AIDS epidemic without being overly bogged down or dramatic. It tells the story of coming out, of being gay, being Trans, and simply of being a person at the lower end of society’s heap.… Read more »
POSE is groundbreaking and extremely important. Please, FX, keep this beautiful, painful work of art ALIVE
FX please renew Pose
Great show. It shows lots of struggles some people deal with in the community.
I totally love the show. Growing up back in the days and I’ve met so many people that have been through those struggles. It’s good for the younger people growing up to learn some of the history.
I totally love Pose. I grew up in the ballroom community and it tells a lot of people’s stories. It is great for the younger people coming up in the community to learn some of the history.
One of the reason the ratings are low is because a majority of the white LGBTQ+ community is not supporting the show. All of the main characters are non-white and they are not interested.
I love this show. It showcases the struggles of the TGNC community. I grew up in ballroom and the authenticity of the writing is so clear and felt. Please keep this show going. #POSEFORSEASONTWO
Pose is refreshing and something different when so many shows simply aren’t.
I am so hoping that the series runs and runs, amazing and by far my favourite show where I find myself mid week craving the weekend to hurry up just so I have another episode to watch. Always at the end I’m like “Nooooo it can’t be finished already, I want more, could watch this show for hours” Crossing everything for a second season and many more after. Great stuff.
This show for me is Ryan’s best work to date. The writing, characters, music, acting, and directing are sll10,s across the board. I haven’t felt so much emotion for these beautiful and talented characters related by the writers. I’m loving each episode and feeling a time that has past…..but the struggle for equality still exist on many levels. I lived in NY in the 80,s but I never really knew how divided the LGBTQ community was. New York was the place to be and I am thankful for all House Mothers who took the children in when no one else… Read more »
I love the show and can hardly wait for Sunday night to get here! I have watched the Stan and Angel scenes several times! Talk about chemistry and she is beautiful! Love it and please renew it!
The world is harsh, mean, cruel, unforgiving & I’d give anything to struggle with this group of survivors!! I know I’d smile & laugh more than I’d cry!! Wish everyone had this kind of family, love and support!! LOVED IT!
This show was a delight to watch. The cast of transgender women having the opportunity to express themselves and show the world that they are no different from anyone else was very touching and moving. The costumes, the dance, the humor, everything about about this show was such a joy to watch. Yes, it absolutely deserves a second season.
This show is beautiful. I am so happy to finally see transgender people in leading roles, and so many people of color. Important themes of homelessness, what it means to be a woman and the passion of being able to express who you are artistically is so beautiful and moving. I am so lucky to have stumbled upon this show. Excellent job. Of course it deserves a second season!
