In its first 10-episode season, the Preacher TV show was AMC’s fourth highest rated series in the 18-49 year old demo and ranked fifth, in terms of total viewers. Because of that, it is really no surprise that AMC renewed it for an expanded second season of 13 episodes. Will their faith be rewarded? Will Preacher be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.
A darkly comedic AMC supernatural drama from creators Sam Catlin, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Rogen, Preacher stars Dominic Cooper, Joseph Gilgun, Ruth Negga, Ian Colletti, and Graham McTavish. Noah Taylor, Pip Torrens, Julie Ann Emery, Malcolm Barrett, Justin Prentice, and Ronald Guttman join in the second season. AMC teases that Preacher season two follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Cooper), along with his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Negga) and Irish vampire Cassidy (Gilgun) as they take off on a road trip to find God. This thrusts them into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

For comparisons: The first season of Preacher averaged a 0.62 in the 18-49 year old viewer demographic and 1.675 total viewers.

Renew. This is a cult classic with about 2 more seasons. What is good about a cult classic? It has die hard loyal fans. Cult classics always cause a lot of uproar or they wouldn’t be what they are. This is original and unique. Something you can not say about 95% of tv now.
Clever story, great characters, a definite keeper, please renew. And that is from a 68 yo female, so probably old enough to decide what is good all by myself.
Please keep this show. I am a 61 lover of alternative universe. Religious people cant take a joke or really like dogs.

Yep bring it on. Looking forward to it. The idea that Jesus of Nazareth, a 33 year old carpenter, had never had sex, a relationship with a woman, or ever married, was a ridiculous concept to begin with. How odd that him being portrayed as a normal human being should be so offensive. But I guess that’s what happens when people who have no idea what they’re talking about, choose to get offended as if they do. What did you think he was doing for 33 years on your planet?
For everyone shouting blasphemy I ask you this: You were fine with first season that had a booze-drinking, trigger happy, bar fighting Preacher. TWO attempted suicides. A brothel that was treated like an everyday hotel. And a literally FALSE God. But they went too far by making God’s bloodline inbred and God himself sexually open? I say renew and let the religous people get back their Walking Dead, which by they is, as I see it, another negative view on God himself.

I love it. Really hoping for third season. The characters are brilliant. The story lines are addictive, just cannot wait to see what happens next.

I can forgive the insensitivity (Humperdoo) and devotion to the source material (Starr being raped) if they make Fiore and DeBlanc the parents of Genesis. The comics were insanely homophobic – and by far the source material’s most problematic aspect. (It is a product of the time, I am not knocking it in general. But it failed in that respect.) If Fiore and DeBlanc are Genesis’ parents, then they would have seamlessly woven in a gay relationship into the heart of the plot.
