What would be the smart move? The season one finale of Pure Genius just aired on January 26th, and we want to know if you think CBS should cancel or renew the TV show for a second season.
A medical drama, Pure Genius follows a team of doctors as they team up with cutting-edge tech experts and try to push the boundaries of modern medicine to save lives. Doctor Walter Wallace (Dermot Mulroney) is a disgraced but brilliant surgeon who is recruited by a young Silicon Valley tech billionaire, James Bell (Augustus Prew). Wallace learns that Bell is harboring a secret and he begins to question just what the young founder is really trying to achieve. The cast also includes Odette Annable, Reshma Shetty, Aaron Jennings, Ward Horton, and Brenda Song.
Pure Genius debuted on October 27th with middling ratings for CBS. The pilot earned a 1.05 rating in the 18-49 demo and 6.23 million viewers. From there, the numbers only declined. With only 13 episodes under its belt, season one of the series received an average rating of 0.86 in the 18-49 demo and a total of only 5.34 million viewers. The show’s ratings currently rank third to last out of CBS’ 22 scripted series for the 2016-2017 season.
Given the low ratings and CBS’ decision not to order more episodes, it seems likely Pure Genius will be cancelled.

renew! renew! it’s such a great show with great story lines everytime! it really moves me at every episode. it makes me cry. it’s pure positiveness, no bad guys, all good people with good intentions. such a nice change from our every day lives and such a change from all the other shows on tv these days. bad guys, guns, crazy criminals, discusting gory scenes. this show is intelligent and genuienly positive and good. we absolutely need that in our lives. renew, renew!!!!
Please renew for season two. One of the very few shows that remains exciting yet tugs on your emotions. The cast and plots are unique and original.

This is a wonderful and innovative show. Knowing that the premise is to introduce projects actually in the works is amazing and gives hope. It seems all the smart shows are taken off the air, leaving us to watch reality drivel. It’s disappointing.
I absolutely love this show. Please CBS do not cancel.! We need shows that inspire us, uplift us. The cast is very talented and believable. Way too much garbage on TV, Try a different time slot, give it a second season. Get rid of two Broke Girls; pure trash! Odd couple not good,Kevin can wait not good.! They just have better time slots. Re run season 1 ,and Put Season 2 on in 8:00 tine slot. You will see what mature adults want to watch! Quality TV
PLEASE don’t cancel this show!!! We really look forward to watching it… it gives HOPE to people who have none… I know it’s scripted but it feels real so it really helps to know that somebody could come up with a cure or a temp fix to get you through the rough spots!!! All of the actors are GREAT at their job … it seems so true to life!!!! It is one of the BEST on tv!!! I totally agree with the positive comments written here! I really enjoy this show. I have scheduled this to record on my DVR and I bet I’m not alone. There should be some way to document this as part of the rating system. I’ll bet that would improve the “all important numbers” that determine a series fate. To the “powers that be” please save this show!
I love this show! There are very few shows that are heartwarming, where ALL members of the family can watch together. Most TV shows demonstrate how today’s technology can be used as weapons of destruction but this wonderful show does the opposite. It is also wonderful not to have to preview the show before allowing younger children to watch it. We need More shows like this, I am tired of the reality shows that are everywhere. Please do not cancel this show.

It would be shameful if CBS were to cancel Pure Genius. It is such a creative show and the cast is stellar. It seems all we get now out of hundreds of channels are comedies that aren’t even funny or reality shows that insult our intelligence. If this show is given a chance and marketed properly by CBS, I believe it will flourish. If cancelled, I hope it is picked up by another network or Netflix where it will likely thrive and prove to the honchos at CBS what a mistake they made in discarding one of the best show… Read more »
We love this show and have since the first episode. I think the problem is that no one knows about it. Everyone we have told about the show never knew it was on. Since then they have watched it and loved it. How about promoting the show .I’ve never even seen an ad for it.You can’t expect high viewer ratings if no one knows about the show.
