The first season of Ray Donovan performed very well for Showtime but will that trend continue? Will the ratings rise in season two or will they fall? Will Ray Donovan be renewed for a third season or could it be cancelled instead? We’ll have to wait and see.
Ray Donovan revolves around Los Angeles’ best professional fixer (Liev Schreiber), the man who’s called in to make the city’s celebrities, superstar athletes, and business moguls’ most complicated and combustible situations go away. The rest of the cast includes Jon Voight, Paula Malcomson, Kerris Dorsey, Devon Bagby, Steven Bauer, Katherine Moennig, Pooch Hall, Dash Mihok, Eddie Marsan, and Elliott Gould.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available. Because the Showtime audience is sometimes very small, the numbers can be difficult to find.
Final season averages: 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.51 million total viewers.
8/20 update: Showtime has renewed Ray Donovan for a third season.

For reference: The first season of Ray Donovan averaged a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.42 million viewers.
What do you think? Do you like the Ray Donovan TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
What’s up with the wife? She had the exact same personality in Deadwood; always complaining and cursing. She’s unattractive and ads nothing to the show. Get rid of her… Maybe Ray can kill her.
Why do you always want to take away the best shows on tv. Ray Donovan is the best show yet I can’t wait for it to come back. Keep taking off the good stuff and people will stop watching TV.
We love the series but AMC on Bell Fibe cable, in running the Season 2 re-runs , has the wrong episode up under the name UBER RAY and on its AMC HD has the 2 nd season up in the wrong order. That doesn’t encourage viewer support and likely confuses some and turns off others.
Renew it re gamoto….
Season 2 finale kicked it out of the park!
A lesson to those shows that leave cliffhangers or just cancel. This is how a show should be done. No addictive cliffhanger to draw people back is needed if the show is good. RD kicks a**, of this there is no doubt.
BBBBBBBBBBBBBest ******’ show EVER
Love this show
Great show, takes up where the Sopranos left off, not in a gangster way but with the intensity of good hard drama…
Keep the show
Seems like all Showtime dramas must have a whiny teen daughter (yes Dana Brodie I mean you). I like Ray but the mopey daughter and grating wife have taken up too much time this year. Tonight’s ep…Abby is just plain dumb. Clearly they want Jon Voigt around but don’t know what to do with him. It needs to go back to the celebrity problem of the week and forget the family issues.
I agree! This daughter Bridget is a snotty brat. She has no friends, no goals in life and lives to do the opposite of what her parents tell her to do. Abby is annoying beyond belief with her filthy mouth and manipulation. Does the woman never do housework and never cook? She is always coming home with take-out. Coner isn’t even mentioned in most of the episodes – neither parent asks about him or calls him and at the end of epi 11 when Ray left the home he said goodbye to Bridget and totally ignore poor Coner who was… Read more »
I think its a really good program. Well developed characters and darn good acting. I would love to see more.
Love me some Ray
Show went from celebrity fixer to being mired down in family drama. Too much john Voight and wifey, daughter family issues.
Agree. Why doesn’t this site have a thumbs-up button?
Ray Donovan is wonderful. One of the best written shows on TV since The Newsroom on HBO. I love it.
Very clever , great writing and the casting is perfect. Besides Ray the best casting is Stu
Feldman . Perfect! That actor is really great, funny, I just love that guy. I must admit that I think all the actors are amazing and well cast
Really excellent show, great writing and top notch acting….riveting drama !
