The show about people returning from the dead — is now dead itself. ABC has cancelled their Resurrection TV series after two seasons on the air.
On Resurrection, a small town in Missouri is turned upside down when long-dead loved ones return after 30 years. The cast includes Omar Epps, Frances Fisher, Matt Craven, Devin Kelley, Mark Hildreth, Samaire Armstrong, Sam Hazeldine, Landon Gimenez, and Kurtwood Smith.
The series debuted well but the ratings declined over the course of its first season — averaging a 2.52 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.32 million viewers. The network brought it back anyway and the second season debut was down by more than 40% when compared to the series debut.
By the end of the second season, Resurrection’s second year ratings average was at a 1.26 rating in the demo with 4.67 million — a season-to-season decline of 50%.
The last episode aired on January 25th and sadly didn’t offer viewers a resolution to the story.

BRING BACK RESURRECTION!! Just because the WHOLE country doesn’t watch it, doesn’t mean its not worth filming!! Some people just weren’t able to watch at it’s regular time, and most like me, had to DVR it!!!! Totally not fair to just cancel it with no warning or closure!!!!

I know it’s all been said and done that the TV series “Resurrection” has been cancelled not to return. I just can’t help feeling cheated not knowing the whys of everything or at least some things. We were left hanging just when it was coming to a fevered pitch. I think if the writers had of given some definitive answers to some of the mysteries along the way, it would have kept viewers looped in while for every answer revealed there was always another mystery or question to be answered–like the movie Matrix Part 1. Pleeeeeaaase resurrect the show. I really loved it. My daughter and I were always impatiently waiting for the next episode. 🙁 🙁
I would love for you guys to bring the show back or at least make on demand. Better yet dvd, there are so many alternatives.
