It’s farewell for Reverie. Deadline reports NBC has cancelled the TV show after one season.
The drama centers on Mara Kint (Sarah Shahi), a retired hostage negotiator who begins helping people who have essentially lost themselves in an immersive virtual-reality experience. The cast also includes Dennis Haysbert, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Jessica Lu, Kathryn Morris, and John Fletcher.
NBC‘s cancellation of Reverie is hardly surprising. Ratings were never particularly high for the high-concept drama. Season one, which wrapped in August 2018, averaged a .44 in the 18-49 demo and 2.101 million viewers.
What do you think? Have you seen Reverie? Would you have watched a second season?
Great show, yet another great show bites the dust. Why do only the terrible shows get renewed?!
That was a great show! Really angry it won’t be back. Never missed an episode! Instead we’re stuck with The Good Place and Will and Grace relaunch
Reverie was as good as Manifest and better than Timeless (which I still miss).
I loved that show, it made you think & I loved the characters. The ending of the season (series) finale was great and made me anticipate season 2 all that much more! It was a refreshing break from all the moronic badly written “Reality Shows ” that we are constantly bombarded with. You will be missed!
Loved the show. Want to watch more.
unfortunately network TV remains a cash business. It makes me laugh seeing people blame NBC for this. When no one is tuning in, NBC is making no money off ad dollars. No money = no profit. Are they supposed to air the show just for you at a loss? Disclaimer: I liked Reverie, but for whatever reason it didn’t click with the masses. The writing was on the wall about midway thru the season but I watched it to the end anyway. Shows like this do not increase in viewership in a second season. Ever. There was no waiting for… Read more »
Loved the show. Just needed time to find it’s audience. Really disappointed that it won’t be back.
Yes, I really liked it a lot. I like the actress. This is her third series and they are all good. They need to give these shoes a 2nd season to see if they can get a bigger audience. .
I tried to get through two shows and never did. Besides holes in the plot, it felt disjointed.
For sure great show I also enjoyed her in Person of Interest
Yes indeed. I would have loved to see another season of Reverie.
OMG! Yes, I would watch 3 more seasons of Reverie. Why remove the best shows? This one had the most original script idea that I’ve seen in a long time!! Come on nbc!
Yes, it did. I was so optimistic, I didn’t even delete it from my DVR. I guess I will have to now.
NBC can’t seem to keep it together. First, it was Timeless, now it is Reverie. They should not have to wonder why no one watches their network. Anything good is going to get axed. Why get vested in it? I am sad to see this show go. There’s a reason it’s called the No Brain Cells network.
Right?! I’m sure the same will happen to Manifess
Another case of the big networks being too impatient for good programs to find their audiences. A terrific and mindful concept that refused to push the technology ahead of humanity, told through excellent story and character crafting. The writers, cast, and crew created a world and people that I could and did care about. I wish I had discovered it sooner. I just binge watched season one on Hulu, only to find out that NBC announced yesterday that they will not carry a second season. Thanks again NBC for yet another season finale cliffhanger that will never be resolved.
I totally agree with you JimC. Would love to see this show revived. Love the actors and story.
I found it interesting & would have watched season 2. They story lines were intriguing and kept my attention. And several of the cast members were old favorites from other shows so it just made a nice package.
Bummer. I liked this show; it was different. Sarah Shahi never fails to impress.
Good show & good actors; this show really deserves a season 2.
