Heralded as Sarah Michelle Gellar’s return to television, Ringer couldn’t hold onto its audience. The show’s been cancelled after one season and 22 episodes.
As Ringer begins, we meet Bridget (Gellar), a former stripper and recovering alcoholic who’s witnessed a murder and goes to stay with her estranged twin sister Siobhan (also Gellar). Her sister disappears so Bridget takes Siobhan’s place and soon realizes that her sister’s life was more complicated than her own. The TV series also features the talents of Nestor Carbonell, Ioan Gruffudd, Mike Colter, Tara Summers, Kristoffer Polaha, Zoey Deutch, Justin Bruening, Billy Miller, Jason Dohring, Nicole Anderson, and Gage Golightly.
Considering the amount of promotion that The CW put behind it, Ringer’s premiere had to viewed as a bit of a disappointment. It registered a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.84 million total viewers.

In week two, the demo dropped a whopping 25% to a 0.9 rating with 1.94 million. Week thee remained stable but week four plunged 33%.
Over the course of the season, the ratings fluctuated but also dwindled downward. They fell as low as a 0.4 rating (several times) with as few as 1.05 million viewers.
With very few hours of primetime real estate to fill, it just didn’t make sense for The CW to renew Ringer for a second season. They’ve cancelled the show and the last episode aired on April 17th. Since it wasn’t expected to be a series finale, several storylines were left up in the air.

I loved Ringer! The storyline was captivating. I hate the fact tht the show was cancelled. I really thought that there was going to be another season. CW left so many questions unanswered. Questions like: What really happened to Malcolm? Is Bodoway only a middleman for a greater threat? Did Siobhan know Bodoway before Bridget? Will Bridget be arrested for Gina’s murder? Will agent Machato get closer for his girlfriend’s murder with Bodoway dead? Would Henry realize his feelings for Bridget? Will Juliet depend on Bridget like she did when she thought she was Bridget? well i loved this show but never watched it live due to other shows i watch on at the same time so i had to catch it online the next day. i will miss this one i really want to know what would of happened next
Very disapointed that Ringer was cancelled ,But looking at the rest of the CW line up and really most TV shows these days , Id say people like to be spoon fed drivel that requires VERY little thought these days ,well some of us still enjoy a plot line requiring an IQ higher than our shoe size ,so thanks for taking another interesting show off the air guys .
I love Ringer!!! I can’t believe the network cancelled the show!! I was definitely looking foward to see what was going to happen on season two. It was definitely one of my favorite shows!! I like Hart of Dixie too, but Ringer is with no doubt better!!!

I am so upset to see this show cancelled. It was funny and entertaining. Some people would rather watch smut like SCANDEL, who wants to see a president who can’t keep it in his pants. It happened in real life and that was not entertaining at all. TV land needs a wake up call, we need funny entertainment. Most people have enough drama in their lives, I for one don’t want to see who cheats on who with whom and gets killed for it.

ringer was excellent, incredibly surprising twists weekly. i like revenge as well, but ringer is actually considerably better. they should have stuck with it.
I completely agree. I am so upset that this show was cancelled. It was awesome. It is so sad that people would prefer to watch stupid” shows than to think. Hart of Dixie is AWFUL!
I am SO MAD they canceled this show – at least if they aren’t going to continue a series at least give the series a chance to give the loyal viewers some closure by letting them show another 1 or 2 episodes to end the story. It’s just RUDE. This show is just as good and epic as Revenge is – it is just too bad that more people didn’t give this show a chance and apparently the Nielsen viewers wouldn’t know a good show if it bit them in the arse! What is wrong with these people?! Ringer was an awesome show! This is just like Heroes and Moonlight all over again! They ALWAYS cancel the BEST shows! Ringer is a lot better than half of the crappy shows they have on CW!! >:(
Please, i want to see a really finale. I would like to see Bridget and Siobhan’s fight, discussion or reconciliation. What about Malcom? He’s really dead? What about Bridget and Andrew relationship? And Martin Charles Company’s future? I have to Know!!!!

I can’t believe you did not renew ringer. Why can’t you either move its time slot or sell it to another network? Why didn’t you get rid of stupid shows like Hart of Dixie or 90210? This was the only show I watched on the CW show and the only show I watch on Tuesday. I am very angry it left so much in the air. Did Andrew forgive Bridget? Did Bridget ever confront Shiobhan? I am so cranky! i watch 4 shows each week, and 2 of them are being cancelled (other being make it or break it). they can’t leave the show with so much stuff unfinished, or at least the writers could blog something and tell us the stuff we want to know…lol argh!! so mad!! i can’t see why they can’t do a half season just to tie up loose ends. same with tru calling, that was sooo annoying they cancelled that mid season 2, just as we found out all the stuff about her dad.
