Heralded as Sarah Michelle Gellar’s return to television, Ringer couldn’t hold onto its audience. The show’s been cancelled after one season and 22 episodes.
As Ringer begins, we meet Bridget (Gellar), a former stripper and recovering alcoholic who’s witnessed a murder and goes to stay with her estranged twin sister Siobhan (also Gellar). Her sister disappears so Bridget takes Siobhan’s place and soon realizes that her sister’s life was more complicated than her own. The TV series also features the talents of Nestor Carbonell, Ioan Gruffudd, Mike Colter, Tara Summers, Kristoffer Polaha, Zoey Deutch, Justin Bruening, Billy Miller, Jason Dohring, Nicole Anderson, and Gage Golightly.
Considering the amount of promotion that The CW put behind it, Ringer’s premiere had to viewed as a bit of a disappointment. It registered a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.84 million total viewers.

In week two, the demo dropped a whopping 25% to a 0.9 rating with 1.94 million. Week thee remained stable but week four plunged 33%.
Over the course of the season, the ratings fluctuated but also dwindled downward. They fell as low as a 0.4 rating (several times) with as few as 1.05 million viewers.
With very few hours of primetime real estate to fill, it just didn’t make sense for The CW to renew Ringer for a second season. They’ve cancelled the show and the last episode aired on April 17th. Since it wasn’t expected to be a series finale, several storylines were left up in the air.

I loved this show!!! Ringer was geared towards a slightly older audience than what the CW usually caters to, so I’m assuming thats why not a lot people watched it. If it had been on another network then it would’ve had more viewer. So sad its over because it had so many twists and turns.
I get so engulfed in each and every 1st season of a tv show.. and then they tend to be cancelled… i watched ringer every night that it was on… what an amazing show! i dont really think that its fair that the big fans of this show have to suffer because of the people that dont want to watch it.. it really isn’t important who doesnt like it… there are more people that do like it than don’t .. in face i dont like it, i love it! it’s awesome! 😀 the same thing happened to me last year… Read more »
this is very depressing knowing that i won’t be able to watch season 2 of RINGER…im from Philippines and i really really love the show!! PLEASE give RINGER a second chance!! the show gave so much inspiration & you can really learn something from it…i just hope & pray that CW11 will change their decision…
As soon as the audience has to switch on its brain to understand a good show, they prefer to switch the channel. So sad that the dumbs decide over tv programm. Ringer was a good show, since years the best I saw. So sad there’ll be no season two.
I’m from toronto canada and me and my family watched it CW you keep canceling TV shows and leaving the stupid ones. Put ringer on DVD or blue ray so that people can see what really happen at the end stop canceling something and never having a real ending its upseting and not fare for people that have watched the show from first day and was looking for season 2 and not to find out it was canceled its bull so not happy at all.

I LOVED RINGER!!!! It was definitely my favorite show of the Season last year! I am soooo disappointed that it is not coming back! I can’t believe I will never know what happened in the story line! I thought Season 2 would have been great had Siobhan and Bridget come face-to-face and the plot thickened (if that were possible, it was great to begin with). PLEASE bring it back 🙁

I have never liked american soaps, but Ringer made me change my opinion on that, and I was really hoping that this fall I would see it my favorite show return for a comeback!

Iam Highlyyyy Disappointed in the CW11 , you guys owe it to the few people that actually were watching the show to give us a proper ending . i feel so left in suspense and hate that i didnt get to see what the outcome wouldve been when the two sisters reunited . im sure it wouldve been an amazing ending . i mean if your not going to air it on national tv at least sell it on blu_ray or DVD i mean the show does have fans so at least give us an oppertunity to purchase the series… Read more »

It was great–Suspenseful and kept you on your toes. I’m disappointed it got left up in the air as it did…Not fair to us avid viewers. Bring it back.
I’m so upset that Ringer was cancelled, I looked forward every week to seeing the new episode, it’s attention grabbing plot and well played characters, Ringer was something that started with my family in the United States and continued with us to our different duty stations, we watched every week on Hulu, it gave us all something to talk about it truly gave us “tv to talk about”. Now we’re all upset that we won’t get to find out the conclusion to this well written show. You could’ve at least left us with a season finale.
I am a devoted fan of ringer! It is so upsetting that we get teased with a first season and CW declines a second! Same thing happened to Moonlight! Great shows, exciting story lines and true entertainment! I purposely watched it on my television…and then did a second viewing on the computer so that the ratings would be there because I learned that Moonlight had the same problem…low ratings due to watching it on other sources besides the television. I agree with what everyone is saying you all took the words right out of my mouth, they keep the fashion and sex driven shows that are garbage and gets rid of actual dramas, and A++++++ for the writing and the twist and turnes, i NEVER knew what was going to happen and i was able to keep up and understand everything that was going on. There should definitley be ATLEAST a 2hr series ending or something, im pist that i will never know what happens!
And why bother writing negative comments about the show? Why would someone even be looking up the show online and writing comments on the shows comment line? :/ strange
