Heralded as Sarah Michelle Gellar’s return to television, Ringer couldn’t hold onto its audience. The show’s been cancelled after one season and 22 episodes.
As Ringer begins, we meet Bridget (Gellar), a former stripper and recovering alcoholic who’s witnessed a murder and goes to stay with her estranged twin sister Siobhan (also Gellar). Her sister disappears so Bridget takes Siobhan’s place and soon realizes that her sister’s life was more complicated than her own. The TV series also features the talents of Nestor Carbonell, Ioan Gruffudd, Mike Colter, Tara Summers, Kristoffer Polaha, Zoey Deutch, Justin Bruening, Billy Miller, Jason Dohring, Nicole Anderson, and Gage Golightly.
Considering the amount of promotion that The CW put behind it, Ringer’s premiere had to viewed as a bit of a disappointment. It registered a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.84 million total viewers.

In week two, the demo dropped a whopping 25% to a 0.9 rating with 1.94 million. Week thee remained stable but week four plunged 33%.
Over the course of the season, the ratings fluctuated but also dwindled downward. They fell as low as a 0.4 rating (several times) with as few as 1.05 million viewers.
With very few hours of primetime real estate to fill, it just didn’t make sense for The CW to renew Ringer for a second season. They’ve cancelled the show and the last episode aired on April 17th. Since it wasn’t expected to be a series finale, several storylines were left up in the air.

Why would you cancel the show it really kept me hook I thought it was one of the best shows. I don’t get it they cancel always the best shows and now we don’t have anything to watch!

I feel like the demographic that watched this show probably can’t commit to every tuesday. I on the other hand record it and look forward too watching it every week….. Wtf! Atleast CW could of finished the season, as a viewer, I have so many questions. What an unreliable network.
I though the show was great lots of twist it should not have been cacelled is was getting even better.

I hope this show at least gets picked up by another network. I was a faithful viewer and usually had to but the episodes from Amazon to watch it uninteruppted. Ugh..so sick of crappy reality shows. Not a fan of shows like Gossip Girl or Hart of Dixie either.
I honestly loved this show but most of the time couldn’t watch it at the time it was on due to work but always watched it the first chance I got on hulu. So sad that its being canceled! Maybe they will reconsider a didn’t time slot out get picked up by a different network like Buffy did when it got canceled the first time.

This is insane! One of the only good shows with a great cast and story line on local tv and it gets cancelled. WTF!!!!!!…Did they take into consideration that ratings were affected when the CW/WB channel was removed from the DirectTV network/lineup for a few episodes toward the end of the season????
I completely agree with that statement, that was beyond annoying and I’m sure it had a negative effect on the ratings 🙁
The show needed time to take off. It will most likely be replaced by another show that will not hold my attention.
I’m so sad! I watched this religiously… I was finally happy to see some of the truth coming out at the end of the season. I would love to see them bring it back!
Definitely upset. This show always kept you on the edge and you never knew what was going to happen next. So sick of reality shows – so this was a breath of fresh air. This was a really entertaining show. Hope another station picks it up.
This show was by far the best debut show CW has had in a long time!!! I am so sick of great shows being replaced by all of this reality tv! I loved Ringer, all of the actors were excellent. The story line was unique and different… The CW didn’t give it chance to grow and develop! The viewrs deserve to have a decent ending. We have unanswered questions. I have been a faithful viewer, at home and online… Please bring it back!
