Nobody’s safe. CBS has cancelled its Salvation TV show after two seasons. During the second season, which finished its run on September 17, 2018, the science fiction thriller’s ratings dropped significantly, so the Salvation cancellation has been expected.
A CBS suspense drama, Salvation stars Santiago Cabrera, Jennifer Finnigan, Charlie Rowe, Jacqueline Byers, Melia Kreiling, Ashley Thomas, and Ian Anthony Dale. The story centers MIT graduate student Liam Cole (Rowe) and tech genius Darius Tanz (Cabrera), who discover that in six months, a huge asteroid will crash into the Earth. In season two, the truth is out. Now that it is no longer a secret, the impeding threat will elicit both the best and worst from humanity.

TV By the Numbers reports CBS has confirmed Salvation is cancelled.
What do you think? Were you a fan of the Salvation TV series? If it had been up to you, would CBS have cancelled or renewed this TV show for a third season.
Disappointing news!! Just finished season 2 on Netflix (UK) and googled for a season 3 to find it’s been cancelled?! Was looking forward to the conflict between all those who had taken advantage of the apocalypse… I want to see Uncle Nick get his comupance!
The ending episode left too many questions unanswered: 1. What did the neutrino burst have to do with anything? This was the biggest question in my mind. 2. How did the “hovering” issue have anything to do with the fact that the rail gun shot missed the target. 3. How did Darius know that it wasn’t an asteroid at the end? (I thought maybe it was a comet that just melted when it hit our atmosphere.) 4. The ball in the sky was presumably an alien space ship, which might have been a lead in to another season; if no… Read more »
1) The neutrino burst was from the asteroid due to item 2
2) The asteroid ‘stopped’ long enough for the railgun bullet to miss. Ie it could ‘hover’ in place
3) Darius figured that out and therefore knew it couldn’t be an asteroid
4) Yes it was a ship or a probe… however most people it seems like dumbed down reality shows that run for 20 seasons and you don’t have to think about. All good scifi shows get cancelled. Looking forward to season 37 of real hollywood housewives or whatever garbage they are showing.
I’ve just discovered Salvation on Netflix in the UK and I love it! I’d never heard of the show, I came across it when browsing Netflix. Very, very entertaining TV, great characters (and cast) and lots of twists and turns I didn’t see coming. I’m recommending it to all my friends. Such a shame it’s been cancelled, I’d love to see a third series.
Love Salvation. The age group for viewers ratings should be extended. Am getting tired of all my favorite shows getting cancelled
We want season 3! Watching it from Spain in Netflix and we love it!
Wish this show, story line, and with these complex characters would return for more substantial TV!.. The way the ratings are gathered misses so many viewers. This probably would ‘rock it’ during the fall and spring seasons.
Salvation must go on. Bring on season 3
I love this show! I hope another network picks it up.
Salvation must stay on air please!
Is an excellent tv series.
I was afraid this was going to happen, it wasn’t a typical enough show, plus it was basically scifi which never seems to do as well on the 4 main network! It may have done better on CBS sister station The CW, but obviously they have no intention of sending it there and I doubt Netflix or Hulu is going rescue it! I think if they had given it one more season, they could have at least rapped it up with a proper ending! And like others said, they didn’t properly advertise this show, I only stumbled across it on… Read more »
I was disappointed.. so looking forward to season 3. This sucks !
Very disappointed. The season ending was a big cliffhanger. Was looking forward to seeing the next story line and plot twists.
It is a big mistake to cancel Salvation. It has not been promoted properly and no one knows about it. Even if it doesn’t enjoy great ratings now it will make money for years, being purchased by prime, hula and the like, and well as people, as they go searching for good series to watch. It is super entertaining and has amazing characters and acting. PLEASE reconsider this bad decision!!
Linda
CBS should continue with season 3 of Salvation, it is a great show with a different offer, it is not the same story repeated as in other networks. Think twice and go ahead with season 3

They have to make it international bc the problem is with the chanel company, They don’t promote it correctly, we want a new season of Salvation!!
