Will there be a second season of Salvation? Recently, star Ian Anthony Dale spoke with TVLine about the future of the CBS TV show.
The thriller follows MIT graduate student Liam Cole (Charlie Rowe) and tech genius Darius Tanz (Santiago Cabrera) who discover a huge asteroid will crash into the Earth in six months.The cast also includes Jennifer Finnigan, Jacqueline Byers, Rachel Drance, Shazi Raja, and Ian Anthony Dale.
Salvation finished its freshman season this week, but will there be another? Speaking to TVLine, Dale revealed there is a plan for a second season:
There is a plan, yeah. That’s the thing, there’s so much more story to tell. I’m hopeful that I’ll be buying winter clothes for my newborn son, which means we’d be headed back to Toronto in February and I get to see what [showrunners] Liz [Kruger] and Craig [Shapiro] have up their sleeves. The way we end it really leaves the door open for a lot more story to be told and I certainly would love to get back together with this group of people. This was a wonderful, harmonious experience — and I’m sure Jen has told you the same thing.”
Though CBS has not yet announced a renewal for Salvation, Dale says it would be “foolish” not to greenlight a second season:
There are definitely options. And when you’re able to bring the elements together — this cast, these writers, that crew in Toronto — it would be foolish not to recreate that magic at least one more time.”

We loved the show and it’s cast from the first episode. Please bring back Salvation if at least one more season. I am tired of investing in a summer series only to be cancelled after one season. There is a lot more story for the writers to dream up on this one!

Stumbled upon Salvation searching for something a Babybommer would enjoy watching. I watched episodes 1 through 9 last night. Character development is usually boring to me, however, by the end of the first episode, I knew all the main players. So, YES, please let us have at least one more season. Well done all!

This is one of the most compelling TV dramas I have ever watched. I will be extremely disappointed if there is no second season. CBS needs to promote it OnDemand and get to work on Season Two!

CBS please renew “Salvation” for a Second Season. This is a great and interesting show. It is a show worth watching for all.
