Will there be a second season of Salvation? Recently, star Ian Anthony Dale spoke with TVLine about the future of the CBS TV show.
The thriller follows MIT graduate student Liam Cole (Charlie Rowe) and tech genius Darius Tanz (Santiago Cabrera) who discover a huge asteroid will crash into the Earth in six months.The cast also includes Jennifer Finnigan, Jacqueline Byers, Rachel Drance, Shazi Raja, and Ian Anthony Dale.
Salvation finished its freshman season this week, but will there be another? Speaking to TVLine, Dale revealed there is a plan for a second season:
There is a plan, yeah. That’s the thing, there’s so much more story to tell. I’m hopeful that I’ll be buying winter clothes for my newborn son, which means we’d be headed back to Toronto in February and I get to see what [showrunners] Liz [Kruger] and Craig [Shapiro] have up their sleeves. The way we end it really leaves the door open for a lot more story to be told and I certainly would love to get back together with this group of people. This was a wonderful, harmonious experience — and I’m sure Jen has told you the same thing.”
Though CBS has not yet announced a renewal for Salvation, Dale says it would be “foolish” not to greenlight a second season:
There are definitely options. And when you’re able to bring the elements together — this cast, these writers, that crew in Toronto — it would be foolish not to recreate that magic at least one more time.”

Please, there must be a second (third, forth….) season! It was the best show of the summer. We loved it.
This show caught our attention from day one. Love the twists & turns of the plot line & the characters. Really gets us to thinking “what if?” Please don’t leave us hanging – give us a second season!

This is definitely a quality show, and one of the better ones. Solid movie quality acting all round. And some great twists and turns. We can’t believe they would even consider NOT having a season 2! A season 2 is a MUST!

I guess I missed something somewhere! I was PISSED on Wednesday to discover Salvation wasn’t on! WHY the hell can’t they run a full series uninterrupted?

My husband I both are 60+ and we “Love this show”, please bring it back for next season. We feel it has not been aired long enough for people to discover this new series.
Throughly enjoyable show. Non-stop action, likeable characters, good acting and have fingers crossed for season 2.
