CBS RENEWS SUMMER THRILLER “SALVATION” FOR SEASON TWO
STUDIO CITY, Calif. – Oct. 18, 2017 – CBS today announced the second season renewal of the suspense thriller SALVATION for broadcast during summer 2018. Season two of the serialized drama received a 13-episode order.
SALVATION centers on Liam Cole, an MIT grad student, and Darius Tanz, a tech superstar, who bring Pentagon official Grace Barrows a staggering discovery – that an asteroid is just months away from colliding with Earth. Now with the added threat of nuclear war on the horizon, they work together with Secretary of Defense Harris Edwards to find a way to divert the asteroid, stop the war and save humanity before time runs out.
The series stars Santiago Cabrera, Jennifer Finnigan, Charlie Rowe, Jacqueline Byers, Rachel Drance and Ian Anthony Dale. Liz Kruger, Craig Shapiro, Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Stuart Gillard and Peter Lenkov are executive producers for CBS Television Studios in association with Secret Hideout.
The fate of CBS’ other summer drama, Zoo, is still up in the air.

Awesome news. This is an excellent show with action, twist and turns and unpredictability of what comes next which keeps you on the edge of your seat. Thank you CBS for the second season.

Very grateful and excited to find out they have renewed the series for season 2! It is fantastic to have a fresh new TV series that is both fun, suspenseful and entertaining which keeps the viewer engaged thoroughly during every episode. It’s great to have a new show which is sometimes predictable yet techy enough to go off in any direction at any time. Also the characters are a great reflection of human nature as many are growing in spectacular ways…. and many are not cold shallow characters as they may have come across in the early episodes. I do not know why it was rated low, but can only assume too few people had heard of it due to poor promotion. (I do not remember seeing a single ad about Salvation.)

Salvation should definitely be brought back. An excellent series with a touch of real life reality, both in the threat and the government handling of the situation. Would love to see more.
We are very pleased to hear that Salvation has been renewed for another season. My wife and I have just finished watching the first season and have enjoyed the writing , suspense and the characters greatly.
We hope to see many more episodes.
I like this show and am glad there will be a season two! I am surprised it had low ratings, as it is a lot better than 80% of what’s on regular TV.
