There seems to be some problems over at Sam & Cat. Following the leaking of some racey pictures of star Jennette McCurdy online, rumors started swirling that Nickelodean is planning to cancel the popular series.
In addition, TMZ has reported that McCurdy is unhappy with her current salary. She also skipped the recent Kids’ Choice Awards where Sam & Cat won for TV comedy and series creator Dan Schneider was given a lifetime achievement award.
The series is currently on a production hiatus but the cable channel says its a scheduled one. A spokesperson said, “We are wrapping up what was an unusually long production cycle of Sam & Cat, and everyone is understandably tired. We are going into our production hiatus next week, which will give everyone on the show a much-needed rest.”
Deadline reports that the series is on “permanent hiatus” and the break was taken a few episodes early. Members of the crew have been let go.
There are 40 episodes in the first season of Sam & Cat and it’s unclear how many have been finished thus far. The 31st installment is set to air on April 12th.
Though a successful show, Sam & Cat hasn’t been renewed for a second season yet.

NOOOO! Don’t cancel “Sam & Cat”! It is one of the only decent shows on Nick right now! (Although, I do have a soft spot for “The Haunted Hathaways”). Several people have grown up with the characters of Sam Puckett and Cat Valentine the past few years and just the sound of Nickelodeon swiping the rug out from underneath us like this is heartbreaking. I love this show and would be devastated to see the series finale. Its an amazing show with two of my favorite Nickelodeon stars. I really dnt watch Nick not unless im watchin this show or spongebob.

I hate Sam and Cat and all the other garbage Nick has nowadays. In my opinion, their only good show is Spongebob, which is the greatest show EVER. Hopefully Nick learns that making crap like Sam and Cat is a waste of time and they should stick to real TV programs.

SpongeBob is the garbage. Sam and Cat is one of the greatest nickelodeon TV shows of all time. If this show is canceled, I don’t know what I’ll do. So you’d better not ruin it’s good name.
SpongeBob is not ” garbage ” IMO. It’s one of the only reasons I still watch Nick, besides Sam & Cat. If this show is cancelled, I’ll be upset, wait, let me reword that: I will be VERY upset. First, they cancel iCarly, then Victorious, ( without a proper series finale ) and now Sam & Cat.
