CBS had been filling the Mondays at 9pm timeslot with sitcoms for years and years. Now, they’re trying a new drama — Scorpion. Will this change be a ratings success? Will the show be renewed for a second season? Will it be cancelled? Stay tuned.

Based on real-life events, Scorpion revolves around computer expert Walter O’Brien (Elyes Gabel) and his team of brilliant misfits. They’re this country’s last line of defense against complex, high-tech threats. The series also stars Katharine McPhee, Robert Patrick, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Jadyn Wong, and Ari Stidham.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. Final season averages: 2.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.96 million total viewers.
