It is time to get ready for an exploration in Egypt! Secrets of the Lost will take viewers inside the Great Pyramid in Giza with a special two-hour premiere. The series will consist of six total episodes.
Science Channel revealed more about this new series in a press release. Check that out below.
“Exactly how Egypt’s Great Pyramid of Giza was built has mystified archaeologists for centuries. Now an incredible new discovery, the oldest Egyptian text ever found, details the work of a man, Merer, who was tasked with helping ferry thousands of tons of stone to the construction site of the Great Pyramid. This remarkable document from a 4,500- year-old piece of papyrus, is finally helping unlock the deepest secrets of this super-sized monument. Science Channel kicks off its new series that explores magnificent mysteries found around the globe, SECRETS OF THE LOST, with two episodes detailing what was involved in constructing one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The new, six-episode series premieres Sunday, February 25 at 10pm ET/PT on Science Channel.
The first two episodes of SECRETS OF THE LOST follows archaeologists as they piece together the inner workings of the Great Pyramid of Giza using clues from Merer’s text as well as pieces of wood from a giant ship that belonged to the pharaoh Khufu. Experts reveal how workers like Merer harnessed the flood waters of the Nile to fill an incredible network of man-made canals that brought their boats close to the pyramid’s construction site. These new discoveries and experiments are unlocking more than just how the Egyptians built the Great Pyramid – they are exposing the truth about how the pyramid project helped to build Egypt itself, transforming the nation and its people forever.
“SECRETS OF THE LOST features the work of scientists who are changing our understanding of ancient Egypt, in ways that only a few years ago, may have been impossible,” says Neil Laird, Executive Producer, Science Channel. “The pyramids are a mystifying wonder, and are a testament to the ingenuity of an ancient civilization that has had a profound effect on history.”
Other iconic archeological marvels investigated in SECRETS OF THE LOST are Pompeii and Stonehenge. A series of incredible new discoveries are finally helping unlock the deepest secrets of these ancient mysteries. Using cutting-edge CGI technology, viewers will experience the inner depths of these constructions to understand how and why they were built.”

I have just completed research on the Great Pyramid and its vicinity at Giza and viewers of this story will certainly be interested in this latest research, which I am beginning to publish now…. https://youtube.com/c/TheGreatPyramidAIP
Although well done and informative (but dragged out), it is an older program first viewed on either The History CH or Nat Geo (I don’t recall which). Only “New” to the Science Ch. I’ve noticed they are doing this frequently. They stitch two 1 hour programs together and call it “All New”. It now airs for 124 minutes allowing 4 extra minutes for commercials.
P.S. Why is there always this fabricated DRAMA?? Will people only watch a program if prefaced by “But will it be enough?”. I’m not on the edge of my seat.
