Will there be a second season of A Series of Unfortunate Events? According to The Wrap, the new series is now one of Netflix’s top-rated TV shows.
Based on the book series by Lemony Snicket, the show follows the three Baudelaire orphans, who are sent to live with their eccentric relative Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris) after their parents die. The cast also includes Patrick Warburton, Catherine O’Hara, Aasif Mandvi, Alfre Woodard, Joan Cusack, Malina Weissman, and Louis Hynes. Season one debuted on January 13th.
Though Netflix doesn’t release ratings, Symphony Advanced Media reports A Series of Unfortunate Events was viewed by 3.755 million adults 18-49 during its opening weekend. That places the original series behind Fuller House, Orange is the New Black, and Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life in terms of rankings.
The streaming platform has not officially renewed the show for a second season, but it seems likely. Recently, EP Barry Sonnenfeld said season two is already being written.

Yes, loved it. The in jokes, the pieces to camera, the bizarre interspersed definitions. Style was similar to pushing daisies, but a little darker. Loved everything about it!
I think there should be a season 2 of a series of unfortunate events because it’s so interesting and has mysteries. That’s why I would like to have a series of unfortunate events

Definitely a NO for season 2. I should have started with a NO for season 1. This is a dark, morbid tv series based on a series of books that aspire to make morbid cute (again?). Really, morbid, cute? I can think of many better ways to bide my time while the POTUS efforts to make white male centrism and coal burning great again. Maybe I’ll try nail biting and banging my head on the wall. That should be at least as fun. Cheers.
You missed the point, in a time when we shroud ourselves in comforting lies, like a lot of children stories where the good guy wins in the end. This shows us that we have to take action ourselves to endure the hard times. Even if they are not rewarded, our good deeds have to be done.
I need to finish the televised show. i’m 14 so i didn’t understand most of the books. I still read them. I’m very interested in the fifth book. the movie went to 3. and it would be a real bummer if the tv show stopped at 4.
I need a new season. I am so obsessed with this series and it would be awesome to see their new adventures as orphans.
