Look out for more Shades of Blue on NBC. Deadline reports the network has renewed the Jennifer Lopez cop drama for a second season.
The first season of Shades of Blue premiered on January 7th.
The NBC cop drama follows Detective Harlee Santos (Lopez), a single mother who begins working alongside Lieutenant Matt Wozniak’s (Ray Liotta) FBI anti-corruption task force. The series also stars Drea de Matteo.
So far, the series has been performing decently in the ratings, with an average viewership of 6.85 million per episode. However, ratings have been decreasing steadily since the series’ premiered with over eight million viewers.
From NBC president Jennifer Salke, in a press statement:
We want to thank Jennifer, who is the hardest working woman we know, for her incredible efforts as both the star and producer of this show, as well as well as our other amazing producers and cast for all their tireless work in creating one of the most compelling dramas on television today.”

I really enjoyed this show. Watched it on Hulu. Looking forward to next season. Jennifer is very believable. I am 62 and a fan in the older age group of viewers.
Can’t wait for the new season! I have never looked so forward to a show since Breaking Bad. The cast is awesome. NBC please don’t cancel!
I realize this show is on Thursday but I DVR it for Friday’s .. 🙂 plZ don’t cancel .. The casting crew is amazing together and the storyline keeps you wanting more .

YES! YES! YES! I AM FASCINATED WITH THE STORY LINE AND ACTING IS SO QUICK, REAL AND EXCITING!!! SAD IT IS OVER FOR SEASON BUT LOOK FORWARD TO SEASON 2.
This is the best new show that’s come along in a long time. I can’t wait for Thursday nights to get here to watch the next episode. Always edge of your seat, nail biting drama. All of the actors and actresses are top notch. I am thrilled it’s been renewed for a second season. I hope it starts soon.

I didn’t know it was on until my sister-in-law talked about it. I sat home and binge watched it the past two days. Can’t get enough. The characters are so complex. Jennifer and Ray and the crew are all amazing. And I am in love with Antonio Jaramillo. Glad it was renewed.

I’m so glad to find out they renewed for a second season. I absolutely love this show. The plot and story line always kept me on the edge of my seat & shocked at times quite frankly. But that’s why it’s so great. Phenomenal acting especially by Ray and Jennifer. To me it is different than all the other cop shows out there & I enjoy that. I wish the new season started today!
