Look out for more Shades of Blue on NBC. Deadline reports the network has renewed the Jennifer Lopez cop drama for a second season.
The first season of Shades of Blue premiered on January 7th.
The NBC cop drama follows Detective Harlee Santos (Lopez), a single mother who begins working alongside Lieutenant Matt Wozniak’s (Ray Liotta) FBI anti-corruption task force. The series also stars Drea de Matteo.
So far, the series has been performing decently in the ratings, with an average viewership of 6.85 million per episode. However, ratings have been decreasing steadily since the series’ premiered with over eight million viewers.
From NBC president Jennifer Salke, in a press statement:
We want to thank Jennifer, who is the hardest working woman we know, for her incredible efforts as both the star and producer of this show, as well as well as our other amazing producers and cast for all their tireless work in creating one of the most compelling dramas on television today.”

I really enjoyed the show, I never missed an episode even though it aired on the same night as Scandal & HTGAWM. There were a few episodes that I just couldn’t Dvr, so I would watch it and Dvr my other shows!>_< I even got a few of my friends & my husband to watch it with me, and they too enjoyed it very much!!! Please, please, please do not cancel it!!! We are looking forward to season 2! =)
I think this is a wonderful crime drama and I hope and pray it comes back and I think Jennifer Lopez and also Rio 2 is awesome Stars they’re all good people please bring them back one of the best cop dramas on TV
