TV Line reports the Sleepy Hollow TV show on FOX is in the process of casting the replacement for Nicole Beharie’s Lt. Abbie Mills. Anna, the new female lead, will be a supernatural skeptic in the mode of The X-Files‘ Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson), which frustrates Tom Mison’s Ichabod Crane.
The former military officer is the single mother of an 11 year-old girl, Stella. Anna is new to the Secret Service’s “Basement” which the report describes as “a low priority X-Files-like division.” Sleepy Hollow‘s upcoming fourth season is set, not in Sleepy Hollow, NY, but in Washington DC. Lyndie Greenwood co-stars as Jenny Mills.

In the season three finale, Mills sacrificed her life to save the world. Beharie had reportedly wanted to leave Sleepy Hollow for some time prior.

“She’s got a tough, take-charge personality, punctuated by a wry sense of humor,” reads the description. “She’s a born leader, but she also has a softer, more caring side which she rarely shows.” Anna is “fiercely devoted” to her 11-year-old daughter Stella, a protective instinct Crane respects and appreciates.
Producers are casting a wide, ethnically diverse net for the thirtysomething character…
Sleepy Hollow, season four, is expected to premiere mid-season in 2017. FOX promises a season that is, “full of supernatural creatures, inexplicable events and the search for the truth about the lives of Witnesses.”

Why did she leave the show? I feel like people have been so vague about the reason. Still watching the show though. Hopefully It doesn’t turn into “charmed”. Ugh didn’t like that show. Love Ichabod’s character. Crossing my fingers that the show will go on and it will still be interesting and good.
Sorry to hear “Abbie” will be leaving but expect to enjoy the returning characters & story line. It’s an hour of easy entertainment without all the vulgarity & car crashes.
I will be watching, Tom Mison is enough for me to watch, Abby was a stick in the mud, Jenny was a much more fun character.
I think you guys should make it to where abbie soul body jumps to so that she is still a main character
Although the show still won’t be as good it might improve it a little rather than taking the character abbie mills out forever
Simply put no one can take Nicole Beharie’s place. If they knew she was leaving they should’ve made S3 purely about the two Witnesses and let them either die or live together ending the series. This is a waste of time and I hate to say it but this move is making Tom Mison look awful.
Oh, I will watch, and I’ll think it would be interesting. Maybe interesting enough to get a 5th+ Seasons to come.
It’s a show about the supernatural. I’m sure at some point, they could always be a storyline where Abbie is not dead and trapped and if they could bring her back.
Doubt that’s gonna happen. I won’t hope for much from tv/movies anymore. Tired of being disappointed over and over. So have fun watching. So much out there for ya. I used to enjoy watching tv and movies, but I’ve learn how it is and can barely watch at times. Someone like me isn’t “Universal” for the stupid entertainment industry. Glad everything is great for most here.
Will not be watching, but I’m sure some are oh so happy about it.
