The fate of Sleepy Hollow is no longer uncertain. Today, it was revealed that FOX has cancelled the TV show so there won’t be a fifth season.
The supernatural drama stars Tom Mison as Ichabod Crane, a Revolutionary War patriot who wakes up more than 200 years after his death. The cast also includes Janina Gavankar, Lyndie Greenwood, Jerry MacKinnon, Rachel Melvin, Oona Yaffe, Jeremy Davies, and John Noble.
The FOX show’s cancellation doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Sleepy Hollow has struggled for a few seasons now and last season, the series alienated many fans by killing off a main character. Season four saw the consequences of that decision in its very low ratings. The fourth season, which ended in March, averaged a 0.50 rating in the 18-49 demo and only 1.92 million viewers, making it FOX’s lowest-rated series for the 2016-2017 season.

I am so very disappointed that ‘Sleepy Hollow’ has been cancelled. This show is so much fun to watch, and Ichabod Crane’s character is so well played. To be able to play someone with the characteristics of his own time, who manages to absorb some of the characteristics of today’s age…is remarkable. Damned disappointed. Fox, you just don’t understand what viewers enjoy do you? Maybe you just don’t care./
I just watched Season 4, because of Tom. Never should have gotten rid of Nicole, smh! The new cast just wasn’t as good as the old cast! I sure will miss not seeing Tom! Fox needs to put together a romantic comedy for Tom and Nicole! It would be a hit!

Sad to see this go. Wish there was something to be done. They were supposed to do the seven years of tribulation. And honestly, as much as I loved Abby, the show is better without her.
Mikel Swart- Well apparently Sleepy Hollow was NOT better without Abbie because very few people were left watching and it got canceled…LOL
Well if it’s sooooooooo much better without her then why did it get cancelled without her? Why did the ratings drop as soon as the shifted focus from Abbie to Katrina? The denial is epic in this one!
Amen Bobbi. Even Tom Mison said that he always felt that Ichabod was a sidekick to Abbie. Fox destroyed one of the best shows when they sidelined and lost Nicole. I haven’t watched since she left. Even tho Tom Mison is a superb actor…we needed the duo.
Sorry to see this show cancelled. It did have potential. There’s not much I watch on FOX anymore. The only other show I’m rooting for is The Exorcist and I’m not too sure that’s going to make the cut. FOX!!! What the hell has happened to you????
Very disappointed to learn that one of my favorites has been canceled. I absolutely enjoyed watching. Sure there were new characters, but such as it is in real life too. Will miss the show. The cast did a great job with their acting.
Please renew great fiction but does teach history in its own way
I very disappointed that mom’s favourite show is cancelled for no reason and cancellation is bullcrap. I really want to see Season 5 or give a series finale.
It’s a shame to see how much this series eroded from its promising beginning. Loved the fresh take on the story but the creative side really turned it inside out and made it difficult to follow. No surprise it’s history.
Happy it’s cancelled. Hope it makes room for THIN ICE and/or BEHIND ENEMY LINES.
I think it’s a great show. I own all of the seasons. I think they could have got a few more seasons out of it. Really sad to see it go.
I watch it. I don’t think it should be cancelled. The show has so much potential! They just have to give it a chance. They could also bring Abby back. It is supernatural! Crane was brought back to life after 200 years!
