The Sleepy Hollow TV show was cancelled, yesterday. Now, co-creator Phillip Iscove, has shared his feelings about the show, making sure to thank the cast, crew, and fans for the supernatural series’ four season run. He’s not alone, either. Actor Phillip Mears is also reaching out, in the wake of the news that there will be no Sleepy Hollow, season five.
A historical fantasy drama, Sleepy Hollow stars Tom Mison as Ichabod Crane. The FOX cast also includes: Janina Gavankar, Lyndie Greenwood, Jerry MacKinnon, Rachel Melvin, Oona Yaffe, Jeremy Davies, and John Noble. After star Nicole Beharie departed the series at the end of season three, the possibility of even a fourth season was up in the air, so their gratitude is a lovely grace note.
Co-Creator Phillip Iscove Responds to the Sleepy Hollow Cancellation
In a series of tweets, Iscove, who created Sleepy Hollow, along with Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Len Wiseman, wrote:
It’s a sad day but in the end #SleepyHollow was an absolute dream for me…
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every actor, writer, director, producer and incredible crew on all their endless hard work.
But it’s the fans that made the show truly come alive and to them I owe the biggest debt. Thank you so much! I love all the #Sleepyheads!!

What do you think? Did you watch the fourth and final season of the Sleepy Hollow TV series? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for season five on FOX?
Enjoyed the four seasons very much. Sorry there won’t be a fifth to wrap up any unfinished story lines.
I am a sleep head and always will be a big fan of this show
I think fox made a BIG MISTAKE!
A season 5 should of happened this season 4
Was awesome I liked what the writers did .
The show should be reconsidered and put back on there is no other show on any other network that was like it it had its own niche. Now there’s nothing to watch or shall I say worth watching.
Yesssssss totally agree! Sleepy Hollow is the best show Fox ever put on their network and they should be so proud of it and put it in to syndication.
I am proud to call myself a Sleepy Head. I have watched Sleepy Hollow from day one and wouldn’t have dreamed it would be cancelled after Season 4. Sleepy Hollow is gone and yet some how the absolutely ridiculous Mountain Monsters goes on.
I will miss this show! I fun twist on history!I enjoyed belonging to the “online” fan club.
A lot of people lost their jobs when the show was cancelled so celebrating seems inappropriate. I will miss the wonderful actors, especially Crane and Abbie. Loved the show – so little on TV that is worth watching. A toast to Sleepy Hollow
No glad it axed, too painful to watch.
Disappointed that the show won’t be completed hate when they leave you hanging
I agree – would have loved to watch Crane come full circle and Abbie return
I am very disappointed that this show was cancelled. I loved it so much. I will miss it and hope it will come back, but I doubt it’ll happen
I just didn’t feel as happy watching the show as I did in the first couple of seasons. Crane’s character didn’t grow as much, still dwelling in his past and not really connecting to the 21st century. I think he missed Abby a lot. To me Abby and Jenny’s boyfriend were the connecting glue. With them gone (and a few others), the show just wasn’t the same. Sorry to see it go, but now Tom Mison’s career should really take off with all the air time he had. Good luck Tom and the others. This show will really add to… Read more »
I gave my heart to this unique retelling of a literary legend. It went through so many changes but there was one stellar constant, Tom Mison, who made the character Ichabod Crane iconic. Lyndie Greenwood brought so much feeling and integrity to Jenny. Nicole Beharie brought truth and fierceness to Abbie Mills and it’s a shame that Fox and Beharie (and Fox and Orlando Jones, for that matter) couldn’t figure out how to work together. That foursome was awesome. But kudos to the team of writers who pulled off a tight, cohesive and entertaining S4 story arc. Thank you John… Read more »
I thought the 4th season was re-orienting the show and they were going in a good direction. For me, SH and Grimm made an awesome Friday night, and I thank Fox and NBC for scheduling the shows sequentially. But Friday is where shows go to die, and everyone knows that. I would have loved to see another season or ten, but the finale made me smile – perfect choice of music, and if you gotta go, what a way to go. In this era of network jumping, we all have hopes, but if a resurrection doesn’t happen, many many MANY… Read more »
I agree with you totally. SH and Grimm were the two shows I absolutely didn’t miss and when they both went to Friday, I knew it was a matter of time. No one watches TV on Friday nights if they have much of a social life.
I love this show, should have been renewed! Bad move Fox
I am deeply saddened by Sleepy hollow’s cancelation, it is the only show I actually looked forward to every week. I think the Network did it a great injustice, by jacking it around so much, the show was for those of us who chose NOT to watch garbage. They just revamped it, why cancel now? Idiots at Fox, don’t know a good thing when they have it. Probably give us more “Bob’s Burgers” , SMH.
I cant believe Fox cancelled Sleepy Hollow, its a great show, not like all the other dribble on TV, its smart, innovative and extremely creative, very sad
