NBC has been finding ratings success for the last few summers with the American Ninja Warrior TV show. Now, they’re trying another obstacle course series with Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge. How will it perform? A winner or a loser? Cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
On Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge, groups of friends, families, co-workers, and more must work together as they race across demanding obstacle course races. Teams of five compete and push through the pain to try to win $250,000. The hosts are Dhani Jones, Kyle Martino, MJ Acosta, and Evan Dollard.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
7/22 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
The challenges are OK, but the formats are really weird. It wouldn’t be horrible if they would stop breaking in every 30 seconds with another “inspirational story”
As it stands, if they have another season, I won’t bother to watch
I liked this show very much! I wish we could have seen both heats of the day, rather than the last heat and the final to see which team would go to the championship. Please bring it back, and show both heats!
Thank you for the positive feedback. I was a participant on the show. I agree with most of the comments here including yours. With a new show, there is a short order for eps. In this case, it was only 7 eps so they had to cram in a lot in just 8 hours. If the show airs again, hopefully it will get more episodes and the format will change. I would love to see four different qualifying courses like ANW, so that they are different.
Not a good show and the ratings show just that…unfortunately this show will be cancelled.
Boring. It’s literally like watching the same show over and over and over. They don’t change up the obstacle courses at all. Way to redundant.
Coverage was too disjointed. Back stories were too long; particularly at this early stage of getting to know the format. Just as you start to get into a heat it breaks and you just have a recap of a good portion. Very strange. Won’t be watching again. Nice idea, but I’d MUCH rather have more Team Ninja Warrior, or Ninja Warrior All Stars.
