Ryan Seacrest might be the busiest man in show business. According to Variety, the American Idol host will be producing a new, multi-camera sitcom for CBS entitled Squad Goals.
The comedy, written by Lindsey Rosin and Aaron Karo, will be set in the world of so many a sitcom—20-something friendships. The series will explore that critical period in your 20s when you either choose to grow up or choose to grow mold on your unwashed dishes.
From Variety:
Insiders say the comedy, loosely inspired by the writers’ own observations, came to fruition when the pair realized they, among many other young adults, were at a pivotal life moment when their friends were at a crossroads, either balancing marriage and mortgages — or margaritas.”
This deal comes just days after it was announced that Seacrest, along with Ludacris, will be producing another series for CBS—a marching band drama set in Atlanta called The Down Beat.
What do you think? Is Squad Goals a show you would watch? What about The Down Beat? Are you excited Seacrest is developing scripted material?
