Earlier this season, CBS renewed newbie shows Scorpion, Madam Secretary, and NCIS: New Orleans for another season each. The network’s other new drama, Stalker, was glaringly missing from that list of early renewals. Is it doomed? Will Stalker be renewed for a second season or will it be cancelled instead?
A cop thriller, Stalker follows the work of the LAPD’s Threat Assessment Unit, a team that investigates incidents of stalking. The TV show stars Dylan McDermott, Maggie Q, Victor Rasuk, and Mariana Klaveno.
The series debuted in October to a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.07 million viewers. It wasn’t exactly an impressive start for the new series and the ratings dropped 10-14% in week two. That wasn’t too bad of a decline and CBS ended up giving Stalker some time (a “full season” order) to prove itself.
Unfortunately, the ratings have been dwindling downward for most of the season. Last week’s episode hit a new low with a 1.2 rating in the demo and 6.74 million viewers. CBS has no shortage of successful crime/legal series and numbers like those are too low for CBS. The network could bring it back for a second season but that seems highly unlikely.
Last week’s installment was Stalker’s 17th episode and CBS supposedly only ordered 20 of them for the season. It’s unclear if or when the remaining trio of episodes will be shown. Saturday night airings seem like a natural move at this point.
New series CSI: Cyber — starring recent Oscar-winner Patricia Arquette — takes over the Wednesdays at 10pm timeslot next week. It’s a natural fit for lead-in Criminal Minds since both revolve around FBI units.

I absolutely loved the show The Stalker and really like Dylan McDermott. I was so very sorry to hear that is has been cancelled. Is there any chance it could come back?? Please respond to this E-Mail to le me know the Status. I hope and pray that The Stalker will return.

They need to renew stalker! It’s my favorite shoe I love it!! It’s different from the other shows bring back different not the same old shows
A true embarrassment for CBS if they cancel Stalker, but add another CSI, bring back Big Brother for 15 more seasons and renewed Two Broke Girls that “Jumped the Shark” in its first season. Put some faith in the viewers. The Superbowl sucks sometimes, but it’s broadcast every year. The Indy 500 has 25 Americans that watch it, but it’s televised every year. It will be a shame if they cancel stalker, we only watch 3 shows on tv and this is one of them.
Stalker is not coming back even though it was replaced by yet another CSI show. We watched the last couple of episodes with our 21 year old Daughter and even she agreed that it was a great show. Of course we (my husband and I) don’t even get considered in the rankings as we are over 50 and the demographics they go after in the 20 something age group. My daughter does the majority of her TV watching on Netflix streaming as do others her age so I don’t know what the networks are doing but it is wrong to… Read more »

well,like so many other shows that fade into the sunset,I guess stalker will leave us hanging with no resolution to the loose ends.

This Show is teriffic ! I told all of my sisters to watch it . We look forward to Wednesday nights and call each other after the showi .my daughter is now hocked .i really hope you don’t cancel it why is it all the good shows are taken off ???
