The tribe network has spoken. Jeff Probst and Survivor will be back for a 31st cycle on CBS. You can look for the series to return in the fall.
The current season of Survivor is the “Worlds Apart” edition and it pits three tribes against one another — White Collar, Blue Collar and No Collar.
While the ratings have slipped over the years, Survivor remains the network’s top unscripted series.
The Fall 2014 edition drew a 2.29 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.2 million viewers — down by 5-7% year-to-year. The current edition has been averaging a 2.27 in the demo with 9.63 million. That’s down by 5% in the demo but up by a couple percentage points in viewership.
For the first time, viewers will get the chance to vote on who they want to compete in the next “second chances” edition. They can visit cbs.com/survivorsecondchance to cast their votes and the winners will be revealed as part of the May 20th reunion show.
What do you think? Will you be watching the next season? Do you like some of the newer twists and turns that have been added to the show?
SURVIVOR is not a reality show. It is a game show. Do we call WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE a reality show?
Looking forward to the next 31 seasons! Survivor is awesome!
