We hope you weren’t too taken with the story of young Bryan Mills. As reported, NBC has removed season two of its Taken TV show from the schedule. Now, the Peacock network has announced the second season will resume Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 8:00pm ET/PT. Note two things about that return date: the network is moving the show from the ICU that is Friday nights, to the hospice that is Saturdays, and the second season of Taken will not resume until after the conclusion of Nielsen’s May Sweeps ratings period.
An NBC crime thriller, Taken is a prequel to the Luc Besson film franchise starring Liam Neeson. The Taken TV series adaptation stars Clive Standen as a young, but already lethal Bryan Mills. The cast, which was retooled after a flagging freshman season, also includes Jennifer Beals, Adam Goldberg, and Jessica Camacho. The story centers on Mills, as he and his team undertake rescue missions around the globe.
According to NBC’s programming schedule, beginning Friday, May 20th Dateline NBC, which typically runs for one hour at 10:00pm ET/PT, will air from 9:00 to 11:00pm ET/PT. Meanwhile, the Taken show page, on NBC.com, confirms the May 26th return date.
In addition, Deadline reports: “Taken already was considered a likely cancellation, and the scheduling move makes that certain.” While the network has yet to confirm that it has cancelled Taken, don’t bet your grocery money on season three renewal.
Taken: A Look at the Ratings
The second season of Taken is averaging a 0.44 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.764 million viewers. Compared to season one, it is down by about 56% and 46%, respectively. By both measures, it is the lowest rated of NBC’s scripted TV shows. It’s really due to international sales that Taken was renewed for season two.

I watched this show regularly. I liked how in season 1 they had a team but I still enjoyed the second season!! I’m sad to see it go!!

Unfortunately NBC does it again. Cancelling Taken is unfortunate, it was a great show and great acting / plot. I agree that Season 2’s plot was not as intense as the first and could use improvement to keep the audience more engaged, thus increasing the viewers attention and ratings. Let’s get a better story line and bring it back!. This was by far, one of the best shows on TV
If it was up to me I would have renewed Taken! It’s a great show! I enjoyed watching it and every week I looked forward to it! So the ratings dropped. So what! Write the storyline more intense so it grabs the viewers attention as it did in season one! Season two was good, but it kinda drifted off course a bit.
We loved this show…it was one of the best on TV. Jennifer Beale and Clive Standen were great, as well as the rest of the cast. Please bring it back

Loved this show!! I LOVE Liam Neeson and this T.V. SHOW based on Liam’s movie was a GREAT show!! Excellent acting. Tons of action. The lead actor is really hot too!! Bad decison for them to cancel it. 🙁
AGAIN NBC has canceled another awesome show! Who is making these awful decisions regarding cancelations! Please the adult population wants to see good TV…Stop with the dumb stuff! Reverse your decision to cancel so that we may enjoy good TV entertainment and not the idiotic reality shows!
One of my favorite Tv shows , I haters the ending , I binge watched the whole 2 season In 4 days , I loved this show I loved the actors the action , I really do think they should renew it , no matter the ratings there is people out there who love this show and would love for a season 3 ! Who’s with me !!?
Why would you cancel a show that is one of the best ones on TV?!?!? This is crazy. But to leave us hanging without closure before cancelling is just cruel!!!
