Though many critics loved the FX series, Terriers just couldn’t attract enough viewers to stay alive. FX has announced the TV show has been officially cancelled.
Terriers follows a pair of unorthodox and unlicensed private detectives. They’ll take just about any job, no matter how small or how strange. The show stars Donal Logue, Michael Raymond-James, Kimberly Quinn, Laura Allen, Rockmond Dunbar, and Jamie Denbo.
The series debuted to a 0.5 rating among the 18-49 demographic and 970,000 total viewers. When compared to other FX shows, that was a poor showing right from the start. The numbers went lower for subsequent episodes and the recent season finale attracted a 0.3 demo rating and 784,000 viewers.
FX President John Landgraf is expected to discuss the decision later today but ultimately the reason for the cancellation seems quite clear.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Terriers won’t be returning for a second season? Why didn’t it catch on? Was it simply a confusing title or something more?

terriers was one of my favorite shows, went to see when new episodes would be on and found it gone, this was one of the shows that fx had I enjoyed.
Seriously? This show was good and interesting and I loved the characters. Justified SUCKS!
SO bummed 🙁
It’s too bad!. This is an outstanding TV Serie and I will miss the funny things these guys were saying all the time. On top of that, the cases they were investigating were also really thrilling!!.
We (at least me!) want Terries to be continued!!!
This show was great with very clever dialogue. I am really disappointed:(
I am so bummed that this show was cancelled — it had good EVERYTHING (plot, dialog, acting, 3-D characters, you name it!) and was personable and good fun to boot. So what the heck happened? Is this another instance of a darn fine show getting flushed because of lack of really good advertising campaign? I mean, what is wrong with you people??? Somebody out there at another network GET A CLUE!!! Pick up this show and give it the promotion it deserves so it will get the audience and numbers and can live on!!!
sad. This definitely was a show where the characters grew on you. It was funny, interesting, and well made. The only failure was in not getting it the attention it needed, and not giving it enough time to build. I think I cared more about these characters than any other show on the air, so the show had draw if it was given a chance. Conan got a following because people cared about him. Most shows twist the plot in knots to keep viewers caring (like house and cuddy.) But this show had two main characters that dripped with charisma… Read more »
