Maybe fans of The Assets will get to see all eight episodes of the ABC series some day. The network cancelled and pulled the limited TV show after just two low-rated episodes back in January. Then, last month, the network decided to burn off the remaining episodes on Saturday nights.
Two new installments have aired on but the ratings have been dismal, even by Saturday night standards. Now, the network has pulled The Assets off the schedule once again. They’re replacing the remaining episodes with reruns of Mistresses.
Hopefully, ABC will just release the remaining episodes online so the show’s small audience can finally see the rest of them.

What do you think? Have you been watching The Assets? Do you think ABC should just release all of the episodes online?
I am incredibly disappointed to hear this show was canceled! At the very least, ABC should release the remaining episodes online! Sometime soon, please :).
Thanks Arlene for the new schedule for us who enjoyed watching The Assets! It disgusts me that ABC folks are always cancelling out some good shows in the past, just so sick of them doing that….they ought to finish what we’ve started watching. I wrote it down, the times you put in your comment, for the next 4 episodes! ABC sucks big time!
Hello All, I’m in agreement and very disappointed and upset that ABC has once again begun airing the show only to pull it off the air again. Please speak out – contact them and let them know you want to see the show (http://abc.go.com/feedback). I wrote them and basically said things similar to what others have commented. It seems like they just don’t want to give this show a chance. They don’t properly mark it. It doesn’t appear in the regular summer season listings that I’ve obtained. And the only way I found out about it was word of mouth.… Read more »
I meant to say “They don’t properly market it.”
This show was interesting and historical. ABC is apparently clueless.
I agree with all the other comments here. This is a great series, worthy of BBC/PBS. Since there only eight episodes couldn’t they just let them play out? This must be why nobody watches the so-called “Big Three” anymore. Who wants to put up with these shenanigans? Not me. Adios ABC!
ABC TV. You have an Asset with your Show “The Assets” ok the rating numbers my not be big to your standards. You already have made the investment, so at least sell it Netflex or just offer to Amazon and I tunes let them sell the episodes for a 1.99 standard and 2.99 HD. I think you may be surprised by the amount of return on your investment. Plus those of us who are very angry with this on again off again programming. Ask your bosses at Disney and they will till you you need a better marketing strategy. When… Read more »
ABC needs to get it’s head out of it’s ass….i was thrilled to find out about the remaining episodes bein aired, i had been hoping and waiting for months. Now this!! I never have understood what makes networks think that replacing a show that has low ratings with re-runs of another show that no one is going to watch because they’ve already seen it, is a smart idea. It seems that the best hope of keeping people from changing the channel is to leave the show alone until they at least have a new show to replace it with, and… Read more »
A superb drama with excellent performances and seemingly accurate to the actual events, the 8 episodes of which should have been promoted and aired without hiatus. BBC-worthy, in fact. Unfortunately, the viewership and opinions of thinking people continues to be of no importance to the so-called “Big 3” network programmers, for whom life begins and ends with the adolescent and easily amused demographic of 18 years and up, those who thrive on titillation and laugh tracks. Face it: network television is and will continue to be a vast and desolate wasteland. Thank goodness for the maverick programmers at AMC and… Read more »
Didn’t know it was back on…what ever happened to advertising. I liked the show and was looking forward to catching up. Just play all episodes please!!
#TheAssets Eps 5 & 6 Sun July 27 at 4 & 5 est; eps 7 & 8 Sun Aug 3 at 4 & 5 est. Thanks to MyFutonCritic.
ABC once again caters to the mediocre! An actually interesting show based on history gets yanked because with no press and no attention it gets low ratings on a Saturday night? And gets replaced by a yuck mediocrity, a remake of a UK melodrama with sex?
I will not be watching ABC again. I wanted to see the remaining “Assets” because it was not only a true story but it was EXCELLENT!!! Now to hear they are cancelling it I am just disgusted with this tv station. I’m going to FOX.
I have just pulled all ABC shows from my schedule – all unseen episodes of their most popular shows and have also retracted any interest in their new Fall season. I will not be returning to Castle, Nashville, Scandal, Gray’s, Once Upon a Time, Revenge, etc. I will not be watching their new Shonda Rimes show or their near clones. I won’t be watching their Wednesday comedies – not even Modern Family – which they think is funny. ABC’s zeal to free up my Saturdays by cancelling The Assets has just been a boon to me – so much free… Read more »
I would like to see the remaining episodes. This is a true story and it should be seen.
This is UPSETTING news! I was so thrilled they brought the show back to burn off the episodes. I mean this is/was a piece of history…it actually happened.
