If a show has been cancelled, the networks often resort to burning off the remaining episodes on Saturday nights. That’s what ABC did with The Assets? But, what happens if a show’s ratings are even too low for Saturday nights? Well, apparently you run it on Sunday afternoons.
The Futon Critic reports that ABC has decided to air the remaining four episodes of their cancelled series The Assets on Sunday afternoons — but you’ll have to wait awhile to see them.
Episodes five (“Check Mate”) and six (“Small Useless Truth”) will run on July 27th at 4pm and 5pm. Episodes seven (“The Straw Poll”) and eight (“Avenger”) will then air on August 3rd at 4pm and 5pm.
Hopefully, the network won’t change their plans before these actually air.
What do you think? Do you think the episodes will finally air or will ABC pull them again?
I am really enjoying “Assets” on Netflix and would love to see it come back!
It’s not going to come back because it was a mini-series that was done because the story was over with the arrest of Aldrich Ames. The only way it can come back is to depict his life in the Supermax prison, or perhaps the life of his wife and family. In fact, at the very end of the mini-series we see the product of the CIA operatives who discovered his misdeeds, because they are shown signing copies of their book. You can read the book by purchasing “Circle of Treason” or by finding it at your nearby public library.
great show….based on a true story so they cannot expand it but it would be nice if ABC would let us see the last two episodes….thanks for nothing ABC
The last two episodes were shown on the ABC broadcast network on the second of two Sunday afternoons. You can watch them on the ABC website.
Gr8 series! Was so haunting & riveting that I didn’t want it to end. Mesmerizing!
One of the best series !!!! Add to story line!!!! Keep it going
You cancelled Red Widow which I loved and now The Assets … REALLY! No wonder I don’t watch ABC … Stop with stupid reality shows.
“The Assets” was not “canceled.” It was a mini-series based on true historical events based on an authorized account in a book written by two CIA operatives. Both authors were featured as main characters in the mini-series. All names used were the real names of the participants. Aldrich Ames received a life sentence without the possibility of parole. There are no other events to be portrayed in a “new season.” It was not a “show.” It was never intended to be a “show.” The last four of eight episodes ran on Sunday afternoons because there were low ratings on both… Read more »
I understand but they need to run all episodes, again so those of us that only viewed own episode. I for one, was unaware of it before.
All eight episodes are available on the iPad ABC app. The last five episodes (not the first three) are available on the ABC.com site. Happy binge watching…
