Well, that didn’t take long. The CW network has cancelled their new drama, The Beautiful Life, after just two airings.
Co-produced by Ashton Kutcher, The Beautiful Life revolves around a pair of teenagers who have just entered the cut throat world of high-fashion, secretive Raina Mayer (Sara Paxton) and farmboy Chris Andrews (Benjamin Hollingsworth). The series also stars Mischa Barton, Elle Macpherson, Ashley Madekwe, Nico Tortorella, and Corbin Bleu.
The series debuted last Wednesday to just 1.46 million viewers and a 0.7/2 rating/share in the 18-49 demographic. That put the premiere in last place for the hour and also represented a loss of almost 50% of the audience from lead-in America’s Next Top Model.

This week, the ratings for the second episode came in even lower. Beautiful Life drew only 1.09 million people and a terrible 0.5/1 in the targeted demographic. That represents a 60% loss of the lead-in audience. It was also beaten by a repeat of Magic’s Biggest Secrets Revealed on My Network TV.
To little surprise, the CW network has decided to cut their losses and cancel the drama. They’ve pulled it from the schedule effective immediately and production was shut down earlier today. According to THR, the cast and crew were in the midst of filming the seventh episode. The drama is the latest in a line series that have been paired with Top Model and failed.
For the immediate future, the network will try to generate more interest in struggling freshman series Melrose Place by airing repeats in Beautiful Life’s timeslot.

I heard about this on the CW and I really wanted to watch it but I guess I forgot because next thing I know, I find it on youtube and remember, “Oh hey I wanted to watch that.” CW failed to advertise this show compared to all its other shows. I was on Youtube bored and I felt like seeing what was on their “Show list”; The Beautiful Life was the first thing I saw. I started watching it and well needless to say it’s 1:03 AM and I usually go to bed at 9 or 10 PM. When I saw previews for this at the end of last summer I told myself I was going to watch it and I just simply forgot, but I wish I didn’t, it’s to bad I couldn’t have helped the rattings. This was stupid of CW. They should have kept it going for at least one season for it to catch on. It takes time people! It’s a good show, very unique and I enjoyed it. Bring it back CW!
I say they should bring it back it was way too early to decide to cancel it. This show is sooooo much better then Melrose whatever. I feel like they didn’t advertise to much and did not give it a chance to get better.
this is crazy i loved the beautiful life. this was like my new show it is sooo much better than gossip girl. i cannot believe they canceled it…what the hell?! it was the best show on tv. they need to bring it back bc that show would have been the ****!
People didnt have a chance to Know it better, why they didnt wait to show the 6 recorded episodes? … Worst series were on air at least for one only season! OUCH

Bring it back! I think the show was very good. They did not give the show a chance. I thought it was better than, OTN, Melrose Place, and 90210. I hope to see the show in the future.

i loved that show and so did my friends. We were all like what happened? When it suddenly did not appear that week. It only had two airings for crying out loud! It was surprisingly good and different! They should bring it back! What a waste to not air it! BRING IT BACK
I think this was premature of the network. This was the first show in a long time that I actually was excited about watching and really enjoyed the first 2 episodes. I hope they bring it back and give it a full season to see if it catches on, because I know it will.
What the heck? We were just getting started!! Its on our top 3 shows. OTH, 90210, BTL then melrose. Not enought promo or somthing. Try advertizing it as Ashtons new series or somthing. BRING IT BACK!!! Or place it in a slot when oth or 90210 is in its off season. Besides we get bored waiting for months. Give us somthing.
