There’s certainly no chance of The Big Bang Theory being cancelled any time soon. The very popular sitcom’s already been renewed through season 10. Will season eight be the series’ biggest or worst season yet? Stay tuned.
The Big Bang Theory revolves around a group of geeky scientists, their friends and significant others. The castmembers are Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Melissa Rauch, and Mayim Bialik.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
Final season averages: 4.32 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 16.14 million total viewers.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.
For comparisons: The seventh season of The Big Bang Theory averaged a 5.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 17.65 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like The Big Bang Theory TV series? Do you think it should end with season 10?
Not loving last night’s episode. Zzzz… I miss Penny being fun and funny — what were once well-placed zingers at Sheldon and the guys are now just random slices of grouchiness.
This should be the last season. The few are way overpaid for the poor acting they do. Kaley never could act, Johnny been at it a long time and still no good and Parsons is the worst of the bunch. Melissa is the best considering the part she has , Howard’s wife. When Sheldon left on the train I was so happy. I prayed he would never return.
I still like the “The Big Bang Theory” TV series, and I have gotten into it before the show’s 6th season. I don’t think it should end after season 10. With all these evil cartoons and animated shows like “The Simpsons” and “South Park” wanting to have a long original run just for the sake of it, then maybe “The Big Bang Theory” can, too. (“Two and a Half Men” is already retiring soon, anyway.) “The Big Bang Theory” is a great alternative to these animated shows, which I am not a fan of. I think “The Big Bang Theory”… Read more »
It may be time for Kaley Cuoco to grow her hair back out. This season’s Penny character is likeable, but really bland, with the haircut, the new job, the stable relationship, etc. What’s next for Penny and Leonard: Kids? A minivan? Also, I agree with Grandizer’s comment about Raj’s girlfriend. Where did she go? The Raj character doesn’t have much to do at the moment.
I have loved this show for 7 seasons. I could never get enough nerdness. Season 8 has been a bigger and bigger disapointment until Thursday. Thursday’s episode was actually funny. Lots of nerdiness, keep it up, Big Bang!!!
I don’t see the appear to this show since I’v never seen or watch/follow this show at all but do catch about a few sec towards the ending of eps to watch what is AFTER this re-run show, which is usually ‘Seinfeld’ etc. I do ? thou, do they EAT anything other then Chinese food? Also, from all the ‘nerds,’ I have to say, even without watching this show or knowing anything about it, the ONE that seems to CATCH my attn is that one guy..Not sure what his name is but the guy is ‘Caucasian’ somewhat tall, skinny..Not sure… Read more »
Kay, the tall skinny guy is Sheldon. Trust me after watching a few full episodes you would find him as annoying as the rest of us. He would have been my roommate for about 1 hour. The appeal of the show is the interaction between the ‘nerds ‘ & watching them all get girls and evolve. Except Sheldon, he remains self centered, narcissistic, selfish & clueless. What his girlfriend ( whom I really like ) sees in him is beyond me. If you get a chance to see the reruns with Bob Newhart they are priceless. I think most of… Read more »
I love Sheldon, he is the reason to watch the show. He is amazing, he and Amy are my faves, Bernie’s voice is so funny and I wanna see more of her talking like Howard’s mom, it’s 1:1. I hope Jim Parsons win the Golden Globe too and TBBT win best comedy on GG 2015 cuz that’s the best comedy since Friends’s finale !
this show has gone from “A Nerd’s Life” to “Romancing the Nerd”
This comment is for the writers. Out of 7 comments, so far, three of us wish there was less of Sheldon. Hope you are ‘listening’. I love Leonard, Penny, Raj & Amy. Howard & Bernadette are entertaining too. But again, please a little less of Sheldon. Thank You.
This season so far is a little weak. I wish it was more about the nerds and less of a rom-com with all the relationship stuff.
Bernies voice is meant to be annoying, I got over it.
Sheldon story arc needs to be decreased somewhat, give more time to the others.
I wonder when we will see Raj’s GF again? three episodes, and they talked about her but no signs of her…
This season is OK, so far, not fantastic, but good enough to continue watching for me.
I did what I thought would have been unimaginable a couple years ago. I turned off the Big Bang Theory in the middle of an episode. I have not found it to be of the quality it once was and actually rather humorless. How far can you stretch immaturity when all the characters are in a relationship. Time to let this show sail off into the sunset.
I tuned out half way thru the very first episode that I watched years ago,
watched several episodes when I was home sick earlier in the year (easy considering this thing repeats a thousand times a day where I live) forced myself to watch about eight episodes. FORCED is the key word. This show was NEVER funny to me. I only chuckled when the laugh track went off and I would say to myself, they thought that was funny?
and now that it is becoming a rom-com instead of a nerd show, I bet it is even worse.
NO!!!!!! This is by far the BEST show. I love all of the characters and I love that they got Penny out of the Cheesecake Factory. I hope and pray this phenomenal show goes beyond season 10. ALL of the characters are AMAZING and in my opinion, they deserve every cent they earn.
I agree w/Elaine… I like Sheldon but he’s not the be all and end all. Lets see more story lines w/the other characters…. And please tell them that Bernadette’s voice is very annoying!
I cannot imagine them ever canceling The Big Bang! It is a great show!
I watched both episodes last night, The only way I knew there was a joke was the laugh track kept going off, seemed like non-stop. Sorry not every “joke” is funny to start off with but in this case none were funny to me. I know you all seem to love this show but I just don’t get it.
That pretty much goes with all of the latest sitcoms.
Still love this show. I only wish that there would be LESS of Sheldon & much more of the other characters. Seriously just who would keep Sheldon as a friend much less a roommate after a week or so????
