Last season, NBC moved their highest-rated scripted series, The Blacklist to Thursday nights where the network’s had serious ratings problems for years. The series lost a lot of viewers but the execs are apparently still committed to airing it on that night. Will the numbers continue to fall in season three or will they rise? Could The Blacklist be cancelled or is it a sure thing to be renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned.
The Blacklist revolves around one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives, Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader). He offers to help the authorities if rookie agent Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) is his partner. The FBI then essentially works for him as he identifies a “blacklist” of politicians, mobsters, spies and international terrorists. Last season, Liz was framed for assassinating a senator, went on the run, and her name was added to the FBI 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list. The other castmembers in this drama include Diego Klattenhoff, Ryan Eggold, Harry Lennix, Amir Arison, Mozhan Marno and Hisham Tawfiq.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
12/7 update: NBC has renewed The Blacklist for a fourth season.
5/20 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The second season of The Blacklist averaged a 2.35 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.51 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like The Blacklist TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for third season?
Ths is our favoriye show on TV I have no idea where it has gone. PLEASE ,bring it back. What the hell is wrong with you?
Your ratings may have changed because of your timeslot. 7PM is a far better time for viewers to watch. There has not been a Blacklist now for 2wks, HELLO??? BRING IT BACK!!!!!!!
This show still has me at the edge of my seat
BEST SHOW EVER BLACKLIST !!!!!
When this first show first aired I was taking care of my terminally ill father and we became hooked instantly. Sadly my father passed in 2013 and I from this day still watch blacklist religiously besides its a show my father and I both loved and shared IT’S A GREAT SHOW CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S NOT ON TONIGHT , I look forward to every Thursday night to see this amazing show and have the memory of my father and I watching it at his last days. Please don’t cancel this show its amazing and has sentimental meaning as well … Donna… Read more »
I only started watching this show during the 2015 Christmas Holidays. My husband kept saying I would love it so I finally made the time to watch and catch up on all the episodes. I couldn’t stop watching them. Addicted at first site. This is now one of my favorite shows (Homeland, The Blacklist, 100). Love Redman!!! Such a smooth operator. I had no idea how wonderful the show was going to turn out to be.
I mean Reddington.
THE BLACKLIST is absolutely one of my most favorite series ~EVER~ !! Don’t even think of changing a thing…. and certainly don’t even mention a cancellation !! NO, NO, NO !!!
James Spader is just so good in this character ! You want to slap him, but then, who else but him and Dembe (Tisham Tawfiq) could make you believe that there is a really good person still lurking under all the stuff that Reddington gets in to ! This is one series that needs to be on the “Renew Indefinitely” list !!
my comment was for Michael Musso not for nemo f. Sorry nemo….
love the show keep it going
I have loved this show since the beginning . I watch very little tv because I am self employed. We DVR it, so the day it airs is not a factor to us. I believe it is one of the most entertaining and smart shows to have come out over the last view years . I don’t understand why the network would put just a great show in a bad time slot, knowing it increases the chance for the ratings to fall. I have seen this happen to much on NBC and frankly if they keep killing off good shows… Read more »
My husband & I favorite show. We record it
every week so we don’t miss anything. We love the mystery & action of it all. I hope NBC does not cancel this program. There are too many programs out there that are very offensive to us. I doubt we will support NBC anymore if Blacklist gets cancelled.
I want this show to continue. That said, let’s bring finality to “Liz on the run,and move towards a true bad guy plot. Spader is always better than his material; and Liz is easy on the eyes. Supporting cast is good, just need a new feel.
agree, the perils of pauline needs to go. I watch blacklist for spader, not what’s her name. Or should say watched. I’ll catch up later maybe. if I can bring myself to watch that ongoing snore fest
I love the show and can’t wait to watch it each week but I think you hit it out of the park with your valid comments.
This season isn’t doing it for me. It’s turning into another couple on the run show. It’s lost the edge of Season 1.
+1
The Blacklist is the best show on TV! James Spader is a joy to watch. He makes Reddington one of the most likable characters ever. Such a great actor! Not sure why NBC decided to play games with the show’s time slot. However, i will follow this show to any day and time slot.
I agree completely w/blfan…. about EVERYTHING SAID!
Enjoyed the return of Blacklist.
Red & Liz are great. Good drama.
Keep renewing this show.
Look forward to next episode.
With great anticipation I awaited the Oct. 1 Season 3 premiere. It was awsome. Just watching Spader As Red was thrilling. Like Red, I don’t care for Liz’s new hair color, but The Blacklist never disappoints. At the end of the episode Liz is running for the Russian Embassy and scales the fence by the skin of her teeth. It will be interesting to see what happens next. Putin may see Obama as a joke ( which he is), but there are no flies on Liz. I will be anxiously awaiting the next episode. What will Red and Liz do… Read more »
