There won’t be a second season for The Divide. WE tv has cancelled their first scripted series after one season of eight episodes.
A legal drama, The Divide looks at how people struggle with weighing their personal morals with their professional ambitions. Christine Rosa (Marin Ireland) is an impassioned case worker and Adam Page (Damon Gupton) is an equally passionate district attorney. The cast also includes Paul Schneider, Nia Long, Clarke Peters, Chris Bauer, Joe Anderson, and Adam Rothenberg.
In a statement, WE TV said of the cancellation, “We are extremely proud of The Divide and grateful to its brilliant creators, Richard LaGravenese and Tony Goldwyn, and an amazing cast and crew, for bringing this story to life as WE tv’s first scripted series.”
The season ended on August 27th and averaged 362,000 viewers.
What do you think? Did you like watching The Divide TV show on WE tv? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season>
Omg. I was just searching to see when the divide 1 season comes out on DVD. And just now found out it was cancelled!!! Seriously?? That was an awesome show!! The first time I ever even watched WE tv. And now I guess the last. There is sooo much junk on tv to watch and they get renewed season after season. But an awesome show like “the Divide” gets cancelled. Not to mention the way they left u hanging at the end? The acting and the storyline was incredible!!! I looked forward to it every week. Needless to say, I… Read more »
I loved this show, never missed an episode. Was really looking forward to how the last episode was resolved. Really too many loose ends! Wish it could be renewed or picked up.
Frankly, this is tragic. It was a gripping, fascinating show that touched on many interesting social issues. The acting was terrific throughout. I think we should start a social media campaign to get Lifetime to pick it up and run with it. I’m so sad and frustrated to not know how the story will fully unfold.
I thought this was interesting and well written dealing with many issues along with very good acting. Hope it finds a way back, I really liked this.
Really!!! I loved this show! Some of the Best acting I have seen in a long time!! I will not watch WE tv anymore!! Wow! Just leave us hanging!! Hopefully another network will pick it up!!!
With the exception of Rosa’s dad being on death row, and it looks as though he belongs there, the show was pretty much wrapped up: the real killer was found. The show was an excellent one, with primarily New York (Broadway theater) trained actors, aka the Law and Order All Stars. It would have been great to see where the show was going to go next, like taking down the police chief and the murder’s father, who tried to manipulate everything.
WE another channel that wouldn’t exist if not bundled with other channels.
Sorry to hear this. Was hoping The Divide would be given a chance.
It is too bad you cancellrd this show. It not only was good ut also different from others, which was why I tried it out. I became a fan. And you could have given us a better ending without a cliff hanger.
This was a great show left you hanging every episode.. DON’T CANCEL
I’m sorry this show is not continuing. I really enjoyed it. Perhaps another channel can pick it up? I would like to see more of what Tony Goldwyn creates besides his great acting.
R u serious I have to agree with the comments u cancel a good show and then with a cliv hanger like that not fair at least finish the story but u have all these reality show going to boot camp try to save their careers not their relationship I thought at least cable was better than reg t.v. I guess not I guess this is 1 less cable channel I’ll be watching u r Idots just like the network 2 the producers there are other networks.
There are other networks but none so crazy as to pick up a series that has no ratings and actors whose ability is untested because of bad scripts.
Never watched WE until the Divide, and will only do so to check out the original flavor Law and Order episodes that I missed. This series would would have done better on TNT or USA.
I’m sorry that the actors have to try again to get a job in a very limited field of openings. But,
362,000 viewers! You can get that many viewers from people accidentally changing the channel by rolling over on the remote.
They will renew trash programs and reality programs but yet a fine series like The Divide gets cancelled. That is not bad enough they leave a huge cliff hanger for people to figure out. I think that the powers that be that cancelled series should be fired.
These are some of the best New York trained actors in the business, and will be fully employed for a long, long time. The star of the series is already on three other cable and network televison shows. Can’t say the same of WE TV, which shows the dregs of nonscripted television.
Loved the Divide. Wish another station would pick up. Acting was excellent as was the writing. There was not enough promotion!!!!
I cannot believe they cancelled this excellent series. Meanwhile all the other garbage shows get renewed. I will never watchthe WE channel again.
Too bad. The Divide was a good show with an excellent cast. Wanted to see how the program would develop.
