TV show description:
This comedic TV series revolves around three divorced men who share an apartment across the hall from their female divorce attorney and landlord.
Holly Brooks (Kristen Johnston) has never been married and is a top divorce attorney. While often playing matchmaker for her divorced male friends, Holly’s also recently single (having broken off an engagement) and struggles to meet the right man.
She’s also the landlord of an apartment across the hall from her own and rents it to her former clients and friends. Holly’s newest single client is Stuart Gardner (David Alan Basche), a successful dentist. He’s recently divorced and is trying to get over his feelings for his ex-wife.
Stuart moves in with two other divorcees; Phil Chase (Donald Faison) and Haskell Lutz (Wayne Knight). Phil is a sports agent and a womanizer. While seemingly focused only on his own interests, he often reveals a sensitive and helpful side. Haskell is a lazy, sardonic man who makes a living selling various items on the Internet and was once a professional bowler.
Things get off to a shaky start for Phil and Haskell when they begin to have reservations about living with clingy Stuart, but Holly is right across the hall to help them steer clear of any catastrophes. Meanwhile, Holly’s hard-partying assistant Eden (Kelly Stables), doesn’t let her professionalism get in the way of prying into her boss’s personal life.
As time progresses, the guys begin to realize that the issues they have with each other are the same ones that they had with their ex-wives.
Episode 64 — Along Came Holly
Stuart and Holly convince Margo to hold her wedding at the restaurant; Haskell tries to stop Margo’s wedding.
First aired: September 16, 2015.
What do you think? Are you a fan of The Exes TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fifth season?
It should have been renewed… it was a great show, very funny and entertaining and I am so sad it was cancelled!
The Exes is such an excellent show and belongs on primetime TV. What a huge mistake to cancel this show. The only show I watch on TVLand. So funny, great cast, and truly enjoyable!!!!!!
I agree with Susan’s comment on 9/18/15. If Kristen’s health could handle it keep it going! Renew please. It was a fun show that made me laugh thanks to a great cast, writers, etc. There are so many dark shows on, not to mention the news, it is nice to have a show that brings a smile to your face. I will miss this show. TV Land I think you are making another big mistake cancelling another good show.
I love the Exes, I am very disappointed that they were canceled. What is the big deal it was a fun show!
I am very sorry to hear this show has been cancelled. I have watched it faithfully for 4 seasons and was very much looking forward to Season 5. Please reconsider the cancellation and bring back the show. Thanks.
I love this show. I hate that it’s been cancelled. i hated when they moved it to a later time slot too. I hope it get’s picked up by another station.
Renewed!!!!! A great comedy that ended in the middle of a storyline. This show needs to continue.
Renewed!!! It ended in the middle of a storyline. Poor decision to pull the plug this early on a great comedy show.
This was a really cute show! I’m so disappointed that the series has been cancelled. There are too many great shows/stories to be told, e.i., Holly finally meets her “Duke”, does the restaurant earn a 5 star rating, does Haskell’s marriage work the second time around, etc. It is really a great show with lots of diverse characters and story lines. I wish you would reconsider!
Should have been renewed
The show was great until they put Lea on it she ruined the whole show for me. She needs her own show something like a truck driver series as she talks and acts like a hardened truck driver. Sorry to see the exes go, but may be if they has not put Lea on it, it would still be around.
The Exes was funny, entertaining and genius comedy! Can’t believe this little slice of comedy has been cancelled.
Renewed
If Kristen could handle it, it should not have been canceled ~ as well as Hot In Cleveland! Who makes these decisions?!?!?!?!
A few people have mentioned Kristen’s health. Is she sick? I already posted a comment but saying it again — Please bring this show back — its such a cute, funny show and all the actors are excellent. Why was it cancelled? When they changed it to such a late time-slot; I had a feeling this would happen.
Who is running TV Land anyway? Obviously no one with brains! You cancel Hot in Cleveland and The Exes, family TV shows with talented actors and innocent plots. Then you dish out complete crap in their place. You need to re-group and fire the idiots that did this. Get some decent shows on your channel, maybe re-run The Dick Van Dyke show!
I enjoyed this show The Exes. It was lighthearted and funny. The Exesthis and Happily Divorced gave me a nice entertaining break from the Reality TV on every other station. Poor choice to cancel TV Land, you don’t have anything else worth watching that is fresh and new now.
