TV show description:
This comedic TV series revolves around three divorced men who share an apartment across the hall from their female divorce attorney and landlord.
Holly Brooks (Kristen Johnston) has never been married and is a top divorce attorney. While often playing matchmaker for her divorced male friends, Holly’s also recently single (having broken off an engagement) and struggles to meet the right man.
She’s also the landlord of an apartment across the hall from her own and rents it to her former clients and friends. Holly’s newest single client is Stuart Gardner (David Alan Basche), a successful dentist. He’s recently divorced and is trying to get over his feelings for his ex-wife.
Stuart moves in with two other divorcees; Phil Chase (Donald Faison) and Haskell Lutz (Wayne Knight). Phil is a sports agent and a womanizer. While seemingly focused only on his own interests, he often reveals a sensitive and helpful side. Haskell is a lazy, sardonic man who makes a living selling various items on the Internet and was once a professional bowler.
Things get off to a shaky start for Phil and Haskell when they begin to have reservations about living with clingy Stuart, but Holly is right across the hall to help them steer clear of any catastrophes. Meanwhile, Holly’s hard-partying assistant Eden (Kelly Stables), doesn’t let her professionalism get in the way of prying into her boss’s personal life.
As time progresses, the guys begin to realize that the issues they have with each other are the same ones that they had with their ex-wives.
Episode 64 — Along Came Holly
Stuart and Holly convince Margo to hold her wedding at the restaurant; Haskell tries to stop Margo’s wedding.
First aired: September 16, 2015.
What do you think? Are you a fan of The Exes TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fifth season?
Wondered why it wasn’t showing up in TVL’s mixed up series scheduling. Hard to keep up with them. Actually shocked; funniest sitcom they had, and perfect chemistry! You have to give the audience a chance to find them. It would have lasted on a major network where everyone could try them on. More publicity would have helped. Know this is late in coming, but if anyone connected is listening. You had a great show! Too bad!
The exes is and always be my wife and i favorite show of all time! Why cancel it? It makes no sense. Every episode was funny, all of them. Please bring back the exes we miss it dearly.
To the powers that be…..I can’t believe you cancelled The Exes! Great cast, great writing. Loved the show! When you have something so good, you need to keep it going.
I had not heard, started searching only to be dissapointed about the cancellation. Talented writers and cast. Andy Griffith and the Lone Ranger are in my daily line up the Exes was the only new show I watched. Tv Land must of needed the slot for some dark or sexually oriented show. Bring back the EXES!
Bring back the exes. Loved the show
Bring back the exes
Please bring back the Exes, so funny, miss all the characters. It as nice to have a good comedy and fun to watch. AT least bring it back to finish the story line . . . PLEASE!
This was an amazing show. Sorry to hear about its cancellation. : (
Please bring The Exes back!
I put in a comment that was not posted so I will try again. I love this show and when they put Leah on it, it ruined the whole show for me. I think they should give Leah her own show about truck drivers because she talks and acts like a hardened trunk driver and she is probably why the ratings went down.
I liked this show, so no it should not have been cancelled.
It would be great to have more episodes!
Kristen’s illness of Lupus is quite serious and there is no cure but the treatments are improving. She was in terrible pain but her health turned around, thank goodness. The show did do well without her but there was something missing when she wasn’t on the show. I think the show still had great quality and didn’t stop making me laugh out loud. I think it would have done well on the major networks as well.
Cannot believe this light-hearted, funny show was cancelled!!! The ensemble cast was the best, able to make the audience actually lol!! Being able to evoke true laughter today is a rarity and I will miss my Wednesday line up which always included this wonderful comedy!!! Instead of sweet laughter, you replaced it with Impastor which is annoying and reminds one how low society can go as well as Younger which is just an unbelievable void in precious time!! Whoever made this decision made a huge mistake, guess TVLand will no longer be watched by me and millions like me, nothing… Read more »
