If you need proof that The Firm is doomed to be cancelled by NBC, you just have to look at the show’s ratings. Not only did the new legal series bomb on Thursday nights but it’s currently being trounced on Saturday nights as well — airing opposite CSI: New York repeats, 20/20, and FOX’s forgotten Q’Viva! The Chosen reality series.
The ratings for The Firm have been so poor that one had to start wondering if NBC might bump the series off the Saturday schedule as well. Well, that’s what they’re doing — at least for one week.
This week’s episode of The Firm has been replaced by a rerun of the 90-minute premiere of Fashion Star (which debuts tonight). That will be followed by an encore of the first episode of Betty White’s Off Their Rockers, which first aired in January. Rockers returns to the NBC schedule on April 4th.
On March 24th, NBC has slotted an episode of the USA Network series Fairly Legal at 8pm, a slot that had been filled by reruns of Smash. The network hasn’t announced which episode of Fairly Legal will air but the season two opener (which will run this Friday on USA) seems likely.
The network is shaking up their Saturday night schedule and if they can come up with better numbers than what The Firm has been getting, the legal drama could easily be off the schedule for good. NBC has aired just 10 of the show’s 22 episodes thus far.
What do you think? Are you still watching NBC’s The Firm? Do you watch the episodes on Saturday nights, on demand or online? Would you be upset if NBC pulled it for good?

I like The Firm I think If They Would Give It A Chance It Would Do Great! The Plot Is AWESOME!!!
I am so sick of the networks not giving good shows a chance. Let it play out and see what happens. If the show isn’t getting good ratings, tweek it, don’t cancel it. It’s like the networks have A.D.D.
The firm is such a great show the plot and the twist and turns in this series gets better every week. Not to mention the action. The cast is amazing, the writing is so good and the show keeps me on the edge of my seat. Please do not cancel this amazing show.
The show is by far one of the most intersting programs of the week. Each episode gets better and better. Please do not cancel it. If need be lets start a letter campaign to keep it on.
How can they do this,if they keep moving it about taking it off for a week, what elce do they think viewers will do.
The Firm is a real good show and is getting better by the episode. However, it never fails that shows I like get cancelled. How about cancelling the reality junk that they continue to force on us. Put the firm up against some of those and it will kick butt.
I watch it every Saturday. I missed the first one though, when it premiered on a Sunday. And a few episodes on Thursday and Saturday. I’ll be upset if they do take it off Saturdays. It’s the only thing new on Saturdays except for “Q’Viva” whatever that is.
I looked forward to watching ‘The Firm’ on Thusdays as I quite enjoy the show. I now watch it on Saturdays as I think the storyline is good. I will be very disappointed to see the network cancel the show, and hope that it gets renewed.
It owuld help if they didn’t keep moving it. It doesn’t matter if it’s the network or the affiliate if viewers can’t see in at a regularly scheduled time they will sign off. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday in February and so far every one in March our local NBC affiliate has had High School sports on running the network shows at 1 am to 4 am and of the game goes late it can be 4:30 am or 5. Last week’s The Firm didn’t come on until 3 am. Sorry I’m a sleep and even though I have the… Read more »
I’m watching it and enjoying it and if they pull it off the air they’d better put Josh Lucas in another show real soon. From now on I’ll watch anything with him in it. I also like the supporting cast, especially the man who plays his brother on the show.
I agree with most of what has been said with the 1st 4 comments! I, like them have gotten hooked and would like to know how everything plays out. I DVR almost all my TV watching except live Sporting Events. Friday and Saturday nights are busy and with College Football and now March Madness on Sat’s I would never watch shows in real time. Besides my time is valuable so I DVR so I can skip through commercials and plus it gives me time to see other shows. I
I really liked the show, but on the other hand, I can see why it’s lost viewers, every single episode has shown something, then they go back sometime earlier and it really got confusing. If they pull it for good, I hope they put it on DVD so I can at least watch the rest. I can’t be too mad though, it’s my own fault for watching the 2 hour premire, I should have known it would be good and get axed.
I really think its getting alot better than the first couple of weeks. I think people are understanding more of what is going on and alot more people are hooked. I think they should give it another season before they do anything.
I am starting to get into the plot now. I think it was easy to drop the show early on, but those who stuck with it can now start to reap the rewards – at least a bit.
The layout of the show is a bit daunting, but I am getting used to it.
As usual, once you start to enjoy a new serial-style show, it gets yanked. Look at some of the best shows that have aired over the years. They failed their first couples of years on the air. It sometimes takes a while to get going.
I’m watching it, it’s not great but the back story has me hooked and I’ll be bummed if they cancel it without finishing up the story but I wouldn’t be to surprised as most new shows NBC puts on flops.
