Unfortunately, there’s still no official word on BET picking up the CW’s discarded-but-beloved sitcom, The Game. While there have been plenty of rumors (here and here for example), it hasn’t happened yet.
The latest rumor of The Game being revived came last month when some of the cast tweeted that they were heading to Atlanta. Some jumped to the conclusion that they were flying in to start shooting new episodes. Not so.
They were actually reuniting for a special episode of The Mo’Nique Show, a talk show hosted by actress and comedienne Mo’Nique. Those taking part are Coby Bell, Hosea Chanchez, Brittany Daniel, Pooch Hall, Tia Mowry, and Wendy Raquel Robinson.
The cast reunion airs tonight at 10pm on BET and hopefully fans will finally hear that the revival is “Game on!”
What do you think? Will you be watching? Is this a good sign for The Game’s future or just a way to get ratings for Mo’Nique?
UPDATE: Though previews showed Mo’Nique asking the cast “Is The Game coming back?,” this portion was edited out of the actual show. No mention of the sitcom’s future was made. Disappointed?

The last episode of THE GAME left many questions. Is Tasha and Kelly going to make up? Will Jason and Kelly reunite? How will Derwin adapt to fatherhood? Will Tasha and Rick Foxx reunite? How will Melanie react to the new baby, DJ? Will Melanie ever become a Docter? In my opinion the THE GAME is more than just a wonderful show. It is the only influential African- American show that not only adults, but adolensences can enjoy. It displayed wealth in a black community, inter-racial interaction, and spiritial faith in God. I understand that there is money involved in… Read more »

I have been a fan of the game from day one I have watched every episod that came on. It was a great disappointment to find out that the show was cancelled. I new when CW changed the air date to Friday, that was there plan to cancel the show. Everyone knows that Fridays are bad days for TV shows. I felt that was a set up for feelure. I was very repreved when I heard that BET would be picking it up for 2010. So can you amagine the great disappointment that I am feeling at this time learning… Read more »
please bring the game back to BET because it was a good show and everybody love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I watch the game because its a good show.whats so bad for bet is all the other networks work hard to keep their shows good or bad but the game is a black show so it seem to me that bet being a black network would bring back a good black sitcom The game and let the black community know that we also stand behind our black actors also good or bad in this case THE GAME is a money making show.
The game is the best representation of african americans in a dramatic comedy series that has ever been on television. It is ashame that there is still so much fear amongst Hollywood executives that we all might really be equal; That a show which is predominately black without the obvious efforts to be upwardly mobile, shown by such shows as Cosby and the Jefferson, to the point of slapstick and buffoonery is still the first to go, its shameful. In additoin to this when will young networks stop using black shows to launch their networks and then dropping them once… Read more »
Hello, As an avid viewer of the show “The Game” I will be very disappointed if the show does not return to the network. This show demonstrates examplary acting, writing, and producing elements. In today’s multimedia culture it is so difficult to find good story lines, plot, and character development in television; yet here we have a show that illustrates all these qualities. When I watch this show I am fully engaged because it captures a believablity and authenticity. I enjoy the comedy, the romance, and the real-life topics tackled on the show. I especially feel strongly about having an… Read more »
Would love to see the Game have more seasons. So many people loved this show and I am getting tired fo reality shows too. The Game’s ending was not satisfying. It left you wanting more, can’t believe it’s over. Hopefully a station will pick it up and put it back on the air. If they were smart someone would do this and get high ratings.
But Derwin is playing on a show called Accidentally on Purpose. It comes on CBS, so I think The Game will not return. That is sad!!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BRING THE GAME BACK!
How the hell do u end a series like that? This show is a great show an they deserve to end on a better note.
