TNT has been cleaning house in recent months — cancelling shows like Perception, Dallas, and Franklin & Bash. Will new series The Librarians be cancelled as well or, will it be renewed for a second season?
On The Librarians, Flynn Carsen (Noah Wyle) welcomes four new people to the library organization, to help solve ancient mysteries and recover/protect historical artifacts. Together, they fight against supernatural threats — including the mysterious and immortal Dulaque (Matt Frewer) and the Serpent Brotherhood. The show stars Rebecca Romijn, Christian Kane, Lindy Booth, John Kim, and John Larroquette. Wyle, Jane Curtin, and Bob Newhart recur in their roles from the movies.
The TNT series debuted in early December with a pair of episodes that drew a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.35 million viewers. That was a solid premiere for a basic cable series.
Unfortunately, the second week’s installment fell more than 35%, to a 0.8 demo rating and 3.37 million. The ratings have gone up and down in the later weeks but haven’t edged higher than a 1.0 in the demo and 4.1 million. Last night marked the season finale.
Though the ratings fell quite a bit after the premiere, The Librarians still performed well for TNT. It’s pretty much matched Rizolli & Isles’ demo numbers and is one of the cable channel’s most-watched programs. Though the cable channel supposedly wants to focus on very edgy material, it looks like a safe bet that The Librarians will be renewed for a second season.
Executive producer Dean Devlin certainly wants to continue with the show and told EW, “The world of The Library is a world I want to live in for the rest of my life. The more we can expand that universe and take it into surprising areas… we want to just see how far we can keep pushing the limits of where the show can go. Hopefully we’ll hear soon about a pick up soon and get back to work. We’re all chomping at the bit to get back into the world of The Library.”
Via Instagram he later said, “I want to thank each and every one of you who tuned in for your support this season. As soon as we hear any news regarding Season 2 of The Librarians you’ll be the first to know!”

My husband and I really enjoyed season 1. We hope to see a season 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10… Well, you get the idea. I should add that its not just because My husband does stunt work on the show.
Please don’t let be another one that gets away. It needs more much more. Season 2 is an awesome idea. Other wise how do we know what came of them going off to lema and on their “date”?

Please keep the show. My family enjoys watching it together. So few shows are family friendly anymore. We dvr it and watch it at least one or two more times during the week. It’s fun and we get into the show no matter how many times we watch it. It’s a good series and has pontential to grow. Not every show has to be numbers driven…this is one show that is definitely a quality over quantity.
Renew!! Please!! This tv series is amazing! I absolutely love it. I think that TNT should definitely renew for a second season. I want to see how Eve and Flynns relationship goes! What kind of adventures do the go on? Do those adventures bring them together or break them up? Will there be a marriage in the future? What happenes with Cassandra, Jacob and Ezekiel? How many adventures will they go on? I honestly would like it if Cassandra and Jacob get together. That whole trust thing will hopefully eventually lead to a moment between them. The Librarians is our new favorite show! We just happened to come across it one night and now we don’t miss a show even if we have to DVR it. It’s great!
I love the moves and I fell in love with the show. My dad and i watch them every week. This is one of the only things that we are both interested in and bond over. So with that being said please keep the show. Thanks from the kanaics and Librarian fans of Indiana.

Love the show! I was the only one in the house watching it until my grandson started and then his Mom started along with his sister. Instead of declining, the viewers in our home have increased.
