TV show description:
A spin-off of The Librarian TV film series, this show follows four new characters who become part of an ancient organization hidden beneath the Metropolitan Public Library. They are dedicated to protecting an unknowing world from the secret, magical reality that’s hidden all around.
Chosen by Flynn Carsen (Noah Wyle) to become a new team of Librarians, they solve impossible mysteries, fight supernatural threats, and recover powerful artifacts like the Ark of the Covenant, the Spear of Destiny, and Excalibur.
Eve Baird (Rebecca Romijn) is a counter-terrorism agent who protects the group. A laborer from Oklahoma, Jacob Stone (Christian Kane) is a genius with an IQ of 190 who has an extensive knowledge of Art History and Architecture.
Cassandra Cillian (Lindy Booth) is a mathematician who has auditory and sensory hallucinations that are linked to memory retrieval. A thief who fancies himself as an international man of mystery, Ezekiel Jones (John Kim) is a master of technologies and a fan of classic crimes.
The team’s reluctant and cantankerous caretaker is Jenkins (John Larroquette). He has an extensive knowledge of ancient lore and has worked at the library for longer than anyone can remember.
Together, they fight against supernatural threats, especially the forces of the Serpent Brotherhood, led by the mysterious immortal Dulaque (Matt Frewer).
Episode #42, “And the Echoes of Memory”

What do you think? Do you like The Librarians TV show? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for season five on TNT?
When is the Librarians returning? Watched one show stating it was new season and then nothing else. Its a good show.I miss it.
YOu can probably expect the beginning of the 15 episode third season in the fall. The last two seasons began in November, but they were ten episode seasons. I don’t think the formal schedule has been released yet.
Please, when is the Librarians returning? Only got to see one night and then it as gone Excellent show!
Love this series, keep more new episodes coming.
this show is wonderful. Keep new episodes coming!!!
Please do not cancel. This is a great show for the family, adventure intique
and a moral you can do anything .
Carolyn, your comments are premature. Season Two of “The Librarians” begins on 1 Nov. Just a shade early to worry about them being canceled.
Please keep the show ON.
Every time I find a show that is great, you cancel.
Please don’t! I really enjoy shows that have a science fiction twist.
Yea, verily! I’m still pissed off that TNT canceled Dean Devlin’s prior effort, “Leverage” after only five seasons. He advised that he’s still trying to swing funding for a “Leverage” movie. I have all five seasons of the show on DVD. It features Christian Kane (aka Jacob Stone from “The Librarians”) as the “hitter”, Eliot Spencer.
A Leverage movie would be awesome. If only the powers that be felt the same way. I think it would be a big hit.
I am so sick of mindless reality shows. The Librarians are a breath of fresh air. I can finally enjoy a series. I loved the movies. PLEASE keep The Librarians on! Can’t wait for season 2. Wouldn’t mind another movie or 2 with Noah Wylie since Falling Skies is ending this year. How about Bob Newhart making an appearance?
I hope they continue The Librarian. The movies were such a joy. The show was a twinge different but still, such a wonderful bit of escapism. It irks me to dead planets and dull glass to have so many utterly mindless “reality” shows trashing up space on tv when creative stuff is relegated to back alleys and drifting voices. No wonder smart people give up on TV. It has the potential to be vignettes of little surprises of theatre but we lose our gifts to glitzy empty lies without the true joy of even a child discovering how magnets work.… Read more »
Amen
i think it is one of the better shows out there they have all of the myths to draw from i watch every episode faithfully
It’s a fun show. No real thought is required. Makes for a delightful hour in screwed up real world.
I hope it is renewed for several seasons.
renewed
I’m looking forward to the second season. Show producers – please give John Larroquette some fencing lessons if you’re going to follow up on the Galahad-Lancelot subplot. You should flesh out the legend of father-son so more folks will understand just what is involved with said subplot. I know Noah Wyle is seven years older (and the TV show has him 10 years older) but ask him to lay off the sweets. He’s a little chubby considering what he does for a living. Any chance of Bob Newhart making a cameo to give guidance to ‘Jenkins’? That would be great.… Read more »
Given the traditions of the producers, we can expect another season long subplot, no matter what that is, with a dazzling season ender. They did it every year for “Leverage” (RIP). With various elements of each episode compiling to influence the end. We’ll see, I’m guessing, more of Morgan La Fey, and I’m wondering who DuLaque will find as a female protege, having killed off his last one in “Loom of Fate”. It will be difficult to pursue the releationship between Flynn Carson and Eve Baird in Season Two if Noah Wylie only appears every now and then. Maybe they’ll… Read more »
Don’t kill of Flynn unless you don’t want to continue the movie franchise. Flynn is about due for a new movie.
Agree. I’ve got the three Librarian movies on DVD. Wouldn’t mind another. However, Noah Wylie has another full time series in play and incidental roles in this one, although he’s given producer credits for this one. He might not be interested in a movie. He might not even be interested in continuing his “Flynn Carson” role much longer, which is why I offered that they could add some drama by killing him off somehow and creating drama involving how the new Librarian is selected, presumably from the three in play, but not eliminating the possibility of an unlisted outsider. That… Read more »
I didn’t know Wylie has another full time gig. It certainly doesn’t get much press. I hope he doesn’t make the mistake of some actors who start thinking they’re the next Olivier and leave a strong running franchise (McLean Stevenson leaving M*A*S*H comes to mind), never to work steadily again. I’d rather Wylie stick around and get a Newhart swan song to provide a tutorial for Larroquette in taking over ‘the Library’. Wylie could take over the Annex and semi-retire as a ‘designated hitter’ librarian.
Noah Wylie is a lead in the TNT sci-fi series: “Falling Skies” which has been ongoing for several years. On John Larroquette being “trained” by Noah Wylie’s character, the visible age and experience differences between the two in the plot lines make that unlikely. We know, from the Librarian movies that Flynn is a contemporary man who was recruited to be Librarian only about ten years ago. We know from the plot lines of the first season that Larroquette is a contemporary of Camelot era, well known to Lancelot DuLaque and Morgan La Fey. Pretty much an immortal, who’s been… Read more »
Tim,
Please re-read my post – John Larroquette being trained-up was a job for Bob Newhart, not Noah Wylie. Bob Newhart (Judson) has been around much longer than John Larroquette (Jenkins). I also didn’t suggest Larroquette be the most recent Librarian. I suggested Larroquette be trained-up for Bob Newhart’s role, considering Newhart’s age. Bring back Jane Curtin for a Cameo…suggest Curtin’s character had a brief fling with Jenkins.
Turnblot, I had always presumed that Judson had preceded Jenkins chronologically. If you’ll recall from comments in “The Judas Chalice”, Judson was probably the original Librarian, suggesting that his beginnings were, as a minimum, during the Roman Empire. From the dialogue in Season One of “The Librarians”, Jenkins seems to be a contemporary of Morgan La Fey and Lancelot DuLaque…Camelot. The fact that Jenkins had not been selected as the Librarian instead of Flynn Carsen says volumes. It also suggests reasons why Jenkins would not have been a good choice to replace Judson. As to Jenkins playing slap and tickle… Read more »
I enjoyed watching this show. Am looking forward to seeing it in the new season.
Continue it, it’s great
Was this show ever advertised? I only saw a few episodes and it is not on demand so I can’t get to look at what I missed, unlike other TNT shows. But I liked what I saw.
Vudu you can find all of the episodes
You’re right. It didn’t get a major PR effort from TNT. It’s run by the same guy who helped develop the “Leverage” show for TNT, which lasted five years and is deeply missed by some of us. And it features Christian Kane from that earlier show. I’m glad they at least renewed it for a second season.
If you’re so inclined, you can download it from Amazon.com. I did. Still no word on when season two will be airing.
