TV show description:
Patrick Jane (Simon Baker), a consultant with the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), pays attention to the details. As he stands at a crime scene, he shifts his gaze over the particulars that others often miss and mentally sorts through the information. His surveillance skills have repeatedly helped the CBI solve serious crimes.
He’s well known within the organization for his observation skills, as well as his past scam work when he pretended to be a psychic medium. What his fellow agents don’t know is that Patrick’s intense dedication to solving crimes stems from the losses he’s suffered in his personal life.
Patrick’s crime-solving methods are unconventional to be sure and Senior Agent Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney) is opposed to him joining her unit. It’s not always easy for her to admit when Patrick is right but she’s always quick to criticize when he crosses the line.
The other members of her team include Kimball Cho (Tim Kang), Wayne Rigsby (Owain Yeoman), and rookie Grace Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti). They’re all united in their opinion of Patrick. While he is reckless, Patrick is both dedicated and skilled at solving cases. The proof is in the details.
Episode #151 — White Orchids
Lisbon and Jane decide to get married but a killer named Lazarus is bent on revenge and tries to take their happy ending. He’s ultimately arrested and the lovebirds get to enjoy their special day with friends and family in attendance.
First aired: February 18, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like The Mentalist TV show? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for an eighth season?
Great show! Gonna miss it!
Although I didn’t follow the series from beginning to end, I felt that it was a great show, much better than a lot of what’s on Network TV! Kudos to Patrick Jane and Theresa Lisbon! A ‘feel good’ ending to mone of the best shows on TV! We’ll miss ya, Mentalist!
My wife and I loved that series, from the very beginning to the end. However, I think the Red John legacy has not been closed properly, has we learned about the tiger-tiger movement being tied closely with the justice system and other ends…. I was actually disappointed about how, supposedly, Red John died. (I actually didn’t like the scene, and thought it didn’t match the character–Red John’s–psychology, to have died the way he did. And this not mentioning how lame they way he got caught.) They should have played with that, more, in season 7 since Jane was with the… Read more »
We were so disappointed when we learned the network was cancelling the Mentalist. It has been a super series and we have rarely missed an episode. Please RENEW THIS SHOW! 🙂
Just caught the last double header via download in the UK.
Watched every episode since Day 1.
Good ending nice to see Rigsby + Co back for it too.
Don’t know why it’s been cancelled, the 7th series has been excellent.
I loved the show. The ending was great because they deserved to get married and live happily ever after. I wish the network won’t have canceled such a great show. I will miss it.
I loved the show. I wished it was not over. I really liked the ending. They deserved to get married and live happily ever after. I will miss it very much.
yes we did too =/
Please renew this show!!
I agree with all of the other comments. I can’t believe that a show that is so entertaining is cancelled in favor of some of the gory, violent shows. I am so disappointed in the network for canceling this show.
The Mentalist has been one of my favorite shows. I would like it to continue. Sincerely, Barbara
This is so sad. You have a fantastic show and now you want to get rid of it? Why? There are not too many great shows on now and this is a good one. So sad! All the actors are fantastic so please reconsider. My husband and I look forward every week to watch the show.
My husband and I love the Mentalist. As one person wrote this show and Blue Bloods and Hawaii Five-o are all we have to look forward to. The shows of today are not worth really watching. Please reconsider.
CBS has done this so many times and has lived to regret it and this is certainly another case of being stupid and taking one of the most delightfully entertaining shows off the air.
I AGREE Dan! What a loss for intelligent, invested fans of this character driven (in lieu of a plethora of violence OR “reality” ) show. Viewers have had the opportunity to see “real characters”, their flaws, idiosyncracies, personalities, pain, growth and evolvement. The new character/ old characters departing transitions were smooth and reflect life. The writing, directing, etc. has maintained integrity and creativity week after week. BOO ON YOU CBS!
Keep the Mentalist!!! Please!!!
I agree with all the above. Except for Blue Bloods, there are no shows that combine character development and relationships with a gentle touch toward the criminal element. I see I am not alone here. I am embarrassed to say, I am actually sad, sad—-as if losing a good friend. NCIS LA aims for that direction but seems to be getting more shoot em up violent lately. There are a lot of viewers who appreciate good acting and good story lines and characters more than they like explosions non stop. I wish wish you would announce Mentalist is coming back,… Read more »
