NBC has renewed The Night Shift for a second season of 14 episodes. Earlier today, executive producer Gabe Sachs tweeted, “THE NIGHT SHIFT HAS JUST BEEN PICKED UP FOR SEASON 2!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I JUST GOT THE CALL!!!!! THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!!!”
The Night Shift revolves around the quirky but devoted staffmembers of San Antonio Memorial Hospital who work from dusk til dawn. The cast of the medical drama includes Eoin Macken, Jill Flint, Ken Leung, Brendan Fehr, Daniella Alonso, Robert Bailey Jr., Jeananne Goossen. J.R. Lemon, and Freddy Rodriguez.
With America’s Got Talent (NBC’s top-rated summer series) as a lead-in, The Night Shift has been performing pretty well for the peacock network — averaging a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.68 million total viewers.
What do you think? Do you like Night Shift? Will you watch a second season or, should it be cancelled instead?
Great show – so happy it’s been renewed!! Talented cast and love the diversity. YAY for Night Shift!!
Night shift is gritty and witty and I love it . Will be watching it when it comes back for sure !!!!!!!!!!
The night shift trumps all other dramas in tv and makes Tuesday night an NBC night all night long
awesome show, I am so glad the show was renewed. A great cast, great storylines and great action. I love the show.
Thank you God!!!!!!!! The Night Shift is one of those excellent but little shows that could. I really question America’s taste in entertainment (been doing that since I was a kid) when shows like The Night Shift don’t get good ratings or when shows like SouthLAand get canceled.
I yelled loud in my apartment when I saw it’s renewal for Season 2 on Imdb. Thank you so much NBC!
Please keep this show going – Don’t ever cancel it! We expect more seasons –
One of my favorite shows. Glad it got renewed.
I loveeeee this show!!! Soo happy it it pcked up for season two!!!!!!
Love Night Shift a very adult show with diversity of lifestyles maturely blended tastefully. The gay doc is great having to be closeted until his lover faces losing his leg. The kiss was fantastic. What an eye opener
GREAT SHOW. A MUST WATCH…I AM SADDENED THAT THIS SEASON IS SO SHORT. GLAD IT WILL BE BACK ON NExT SEASON.
Yes, keep ’em coming! Love the show! A breath of fresh air, because I’m sick of all those singing shows…
Keep ’em coming!
Outstanding stories with strong characters. So glad it was renewed. The recent episode dealing with being gay and in the military was beautiful.
I think it had a rocky start but the last episode was good, I think with good writers and story lines the show has ER like potential. I will be looking forward to the season premier in the fall. Please NBC keep giving chances to shows with stories, so tired of talent shows.
Yes! Yes! Yes! This show is awesome! I rarely watch public tv but stumbled across this and my husband and I love it. Keep it up !
HELL YES YOU KEEP THIS SHOW! I am an original fan of ER and I was convinced I would never like a show and be so devoted to it again and then this came on. I finally have my emotional rollercoaster in an hour again please keep this show on just don’t take it too long like ER and I still would like to know why neither Carol nor Dr. Ross were at Mark Green’s funeral.
