Though it’s done well for The CW, The Originals has never matched the ratings for The Vampire Diaries. As the latter show goes through a creative shakeup this season, could this be the year that the spin-off surpasses it? Is The Originals essentially guaranteed to be renewed for a fourth season because of potential syndication profits or, could it possibly be cancelled? Stay tuned.
A Vampire Diaries spin-off, The Originals revolves around the world’s first vampires who’ve returned to reclaim New Orleans. The cast includes Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Phoebe Tonkin, Charles Michael Davis, Leah Pipes, Danielle Campbell, Yusuf Gatewood, and Riley Voelkel.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. I have no issues with Davina getting more air time she needs to go come into her own (character development) I hope that new witch guy from last season decides to mentor her now that she is regent of the New Orleans Witches. Things I think will improve ratings: 1. have more Vamp Dairies cross-over episodes/storylines, bring a 1-2 cast from TVD onto the Originals for short story arc (4-10 episodes) 2. bring the original Rebecca back Claire Holt..we LOVE HER!!! even for recurring we’ll take what we can get but she should be in every season at least 5-10… Read more »
Kwame I agree usually The Originals and TVD don’t do short season they do full seasons 100 percent sure that TVD and The Originals will do a long story arc

to the writers klaus is your ace in hole., for ratings build on and around that and ratings will go up. but if you spend to much time on a 16 year old witch trying to kill your main vamphybrd. the last 2 seasons klaus was the show. please a little less davina treat. but davina could make him a better. love the show lets go for 5 years to start.
