ABC hasn’t had much luck launching a new reality show in quite some time so they tried something different this time — The Quest. Is it a ratings success? Will it be renewed for a second season or, will it be cancelled instead?
On The Quest, a dozen everyday people are transported to a fantasy world called Everealm where they have adventures and compete to be the last “true hero” remaining. The cast includes Peter Windhofer, Jan Hutter, Marcello de Nardo, Susanne Gschwendtner, Stephanie Buddenbrock, Florence Kasumba, Mai Duong Kieu, and Doug Tait.
The show debuted at the end of July to a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.82 million viewers. It was a very poor start — even for a summer series — and the numbers have gotten worse as the weeks have gone by.

The season currently averages a paltry 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.96 million viewers. That’s worse than Sing Your Face Off, a celebrity reality show that was burned off on Saturday nights in June.
To be fair, The Quest has had to compete with football games in some markets and has also been preempted by games on some local ABC stations. The ratings are still very, very low however and the network knew that the series would be interrupted when they scheduled it — a sign that they probably had no faith in it.
In the end, it’s highly unlikely that ABC will want to take a chance on ordering a second season of The Quest.

Please please please keep playing this!! I absolutely am in love with fantasy and this show just made the fantasy world seem more real!! It was all about heroism and honor and I even forgot sometimes that it was even scripted….I really want a season 2…heck sign me up for the next season!

You have a major hit on your hands. Advertise and get a better time slot or you will be doing a disservice to not only the public but your pocket book! I never knew it existed the first season. Many others found it too late also so ratings weren’t accurate. Please give it a shot. Amazing concept someone else will reap benefits from if you bail early.
I’ve never watched any reality show in my life – except The Quest. Give it a better slot. A time when kids can watch it too. This is some fantastic family fare, as well as tapping the fantastic nerd/geek population (even though you may have to do things a bit too sanitarily for their full approval).
Give it a better slot. No football competition. Early is fine; Sundays would be a great way to wind down the weekend with the family.

I don’t watch reality shows. I find them time wasted but I was intrigued by this one. I love anything about wizards/knights/medieval times. I liked the premise of the entire show – the winner doesn’t get money for beating out everyone else. This game was based around the ‘hero’ in each individual. It was about perseverance and how having a heart is stronger than the physical/material things. I would watch this show again in a heart beat.

Loved the show fantasy adventure and realty competition!!! That’s my stuff really hope they come back with a season Two I did not get to watch it when it aired but I watch it on my on demand . I never even it was on !!! I think the show could great if they put it on at the wright time a market it better !! Loved the show and the concept !!! BRING IT BACK FOR SEASON TWO
This show was awesome. As a fan of fantasy movies and novels, this was a refreshing twist on “reality shows”. I wish I had known about it much sooner and been able to apply as a contestant.
Renew the Quest. We need more shows like on TV.
I am SO glad I stumbled upon this series! PLEASE KEEP GOING! Never saw it advertised, so if ratings were even a bit low it’s a promotion issue. This is the best, most addicting program. From concept to cast and story line its amazingly well done. It makes me wish I were younger so I could participate! Watched entire series in 2 days. Couldn’t stop thinking about it. A lot of trash on tv but this is TREASURE. I challenge anyone to watch at least 1 and 2 and be able to disagree.
Please let The Quest continue! It was a fun and original show, completely unlike other reality series. The contestants (eventually) began to take their tasks seriously, and it was more enjoyable as the season went on.
Please bring The Quest back for a second season!!!! It is one of the best TV shows that I’ve ever seen. It was so addicting that I watched the entire season in barely 24 hours.
It would be a waste to not renew. As an SCA member, I was excited when the show was aired. Hands down I would watch this series above all the other reality tv shows.
While most reality TV shows are full of backstabbing and double-crossing and make me want to gouge my eyes out, the Quest inspires me to get fit and restores a little of my faith in humanity. KEEP THE SEASONS COMING, ABC!
