ABC hasn’t had much luck launching a new reality show in quite some time so they tried something different this time — The Quest. Is it a ratings success? Will it be renewed for a second season or, will it be cancelled instead?
On The Quest, a dozen everyday people are transported to a fantasy world called Everealm where they have adventures and compete to be the last “true hero” remaining. The cast includes Peter Windhofer, Jan Hutter, Marcello de Nardo, Susanne Gschwendtner, Stephanie Buddenbrock, Florence Kasumba, Mai Duong Kieu, and Doug Tait.
The show debuted at the end of July to a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.82 million viewers. It was a very poor start — even for a summer series — and the numbers have gotten worse as the weeks have gone by.

The season currently averages a paltry 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.96 million viewers. That’s worse than Sing Your Face Off, a celebrity reality show that was burned off on Saturday nights in June.
To be fair, The Quest has had to compete with football games in some markets and has also been preempted by games on some local ABC stations. The ratings are still very, very low however and the network knew that the series would be interrupted when they scheduled it — a sign that they probably had no faith in it.
In the end, it’s highly unlikely that ABC will want to take a chance on ordering a second season of The Quest.

I love this show and I think there should be a season two. It is such an awesome concept that can grow and evolve into something truly amazing. I think that the producers are blazing a trail for a new category of reality shows. Very entertaining show that is worth watching if you have not seen it. It’s on Netflix so check it out.

My family just found this show on netflix and loves it! As has been stated in other comments, we enjoyed seeing people with good qualities portrayed. I just watched the finale tonight and came away feeling uplifted in spirit. Maybe Netflix could take it over?
Sad. I was gonna try to be on the show, seeing as my obsession with medieval times has led me to be pretty great at this stuff. I loved this show!
I am soo bummed “The Quest” is being canceled! I haven’t even seen previews for it. I stumbled upon it in Netflix. I enjoyed every second of it! I have never been a fan of reality shows until this one. It captured me from the first episode and only took me a few days to finish the entire season. Again…bummer!!!
I AGREE!! No Previews is also why I did not catch it on ABC, They Need to bring some Disney/SCI FI Fantasy to the networks. Why all these one season shows where they have no chance/time to build a viewership. They are ooking for more than a magic fix that doesn’t happen. I probably overstated my positon on previous reply why do not know enough about putting ashow on televsion. I was very steamed since shows I hve become invested in mentally/Emotionally get cancelled. My remarks above are more emotional than factual butfrom what hve read on reasons for cancellations it is always about cost analysis not about the viewers. At the end of the day when i am tired and looking at the TV for some escapism and relax then i see reality TV that is so intense that i cannot relax have to channel surf. or just turn it off… Read more »

I never knew this show existed and that’s Abc’s fault I found it on Netflix and I couldn’t stop watching it was so creative and so different it could’ve been bigger than survivor if they would’ve only promoted it….

Such a refreshing reality tv show that promotes what we should be promoting in our society. There is an untapped market that would love to watch this show and it’s something that people just need to hear about. I take my hat off to the creativity, dedication and portrayal shown. ABC did nothing to promote this show. They assume the masses of us want the same ol same ol run of the mill lip puckering semi-clad chicks and ridiculousness… This show, which I wouldn’t have known about had it not been for Netflix, was the most entertaining thing I’ve seen in years. I don’t even watch TV anymore but I would watch this.

Sadly I must recant my announcement. After much investigation (and some sleep) I now realize that my information was a misinterpretation of several websites combined. My sincere apologies! I am devastated at finding out my error as I was so excited. I wish I had the funds and means to renew not only because it’s a program I truly love and believe in, but it is a severely underestimated goldmine. so sorry in many ways…
I loved the show “The Quest”… I never knew it existed until it was out on Netflix… Watched it all in two days. If given the chance I personally would love to be one of the competitors on the show. It’s the only reality show I’ve seen that was a truly magnificent “Survivor” style adaptation. I usually never liked the reality shows, but this one peaked my interest for its fantasy based story line. The show has POTENTIAL- Please give it more original work , invite fantasy authors on to tell a whole season, do not eliminate the players like its a competition it destroys some of the magic of the show, let them lost in combat fighting the others , or make two teams one more individualistic and more welling to do the wrong things to win and another that is more welling to do the wright things and then let those go to the dark wizard and one to the light wizard – then let the final be a big battle ,… Read more »

I love this show!!! They focus on everything that should be focused on rather than how well you deceive others… It brings morals back to television with an awesome reality series!!! Bring it back!!!

please try one more season , it is a good ideal it blends fantasy and reality tv very well and it is also has a very good License property ability- maybe a spen off of books and comics and games an rpg even !
