Did you watch the series premiere of The Shannara Chronicles TV show? If so, let us know what you think of it. If you missed it last night, will you watch online? Tell us.
The quality in this is series is fantastic across the board, (writing, FX, acting, etc.) I read the books in highschool, 1980’s and was nervously excited when I learned a tv series based on my beloved books was in the works. So far I’ve been delighted with the first four episodes and am looking forward to what hopefully becomes a long lived series. If the quality stays this high I’ll be a fan as long as the show runs.
I still have my beat up copy of The Sword Of Shannara, and was very excited to see this series start. So far I’m not disappointed. I’m willing to forgive the changes that have been made, and I’m excited to see more. The worlds we create in our head when we read can never be matched on the screen. As long as the show can maintain a good storyline, I will continue to watch.
Quick question (from France). Thanks to the internet I’ve been able to binge watch the first four episodes online too, and I loved it ! But I wonder about the fifth episode : it will be on TV tomorrow (and so available online after that!) or it will be the third on TV, ’cause only released online, and we’ll have to wait two weeks for the 5th ?
I don’t know if my question is clear (sorry if I made some mistakes)
I really want to know this too !! I live in Las Vegas, NV. I have been trying to search and figure it out. Waited all day today (1.12.16) and kept checking the app but it never came out. /:
Did you ever figure out when the 5th one will be released or how they are going to do it ?
I just want to watch it already ! Lol
On IMDB it says episode 5 26th Jan. Long wait….
Quick question (from France !) As MTV released the first four episode online last week, will the fifth episode be available this week or will the third be on TV and we’ll have to wait two more weeks ? I don’t know if my question is clear…
(sorry if I made some mistakes)
Watched first episode, now a big fan. Told my kids who are in their thirties now their hooked. Keep up the quality.
My favorite books of all time… Rereading the entire series right now, currently on the voyage of the jerle shannara… Love these books love this author… Love the show. please don’t cancel. Die-hard Brooks fan out. (Drops Mic)
This series is totally on par with The Lord of the Rings and really needs to be marketed better. I saw a little about this series on various stations. I’m watching the first episode now on Amazon.
I read the first book when I was 16 after it first came out. I’ve read several more of the series and others that he wrote. Terry Brooks inspired me to begin to read Sci-fy & fantasy novels.
it is a good adaptation. even for the novel fan. The big hang up other fans who read the novel is the change of certain scenes. A lot of the gripe is overreaction and they claim these scenes as major changes when in actuality it is a minor change. passionate fans will be passionate but its a shame they would rather see their favorite author fail then be forced to accept an adaptation that brings a new take to the old story
Having read the initial books when released, I was excited to discover episodes on cable. Please don’t drop winning beginning, excellent actors, and popular author’s work. Advertise, make first four plus ‘Making of Shannara
Chronicles’ Ads, photo clips, etc. available to build up international interest in time of need for more great scifi!
I really love this show I know my comment won’t stop them from canceling the show but please don’t I have 3 shows that canceled on me please don’t make it a fourth I really would love how far and good the show will get it would be great if you have as many season as supernatural has
I loved the show and cant wait to see the next episode. Please don’t cancel it…..
I’ve read all the books and am VERY impressed with the Production …… Well Done!!!! I just hope that you won’t give us 6 episodes and hang it up
I loved the show last night. I started reading Terry’s Shannara series back early in the eighties. It’s been many years so it took a little digging back into my memory to put it together all together. I would’ve liked to see it start with Sword of Shannara but am happy just the same. Well done.
Awesome show. MTV and the creators of this show spared no expense for the graphics and CG and location for filming. I am a long time fan of Terry Brooks. He is my favorite author. I’ve used the name Shannara or Shan Rackham as my online/gaming name for years and very happy that a series was made from these great fantasy book. I hope we see more productions of Terry Brooks books in the future.
Thanks for your comment, Shan (and for explaining your online handle). I recorded the first episode, but can’t watch until the weekend. I’m glad to hear a book fan likes it.
Loved the show, loved the characters and actors!! Im a huge fan of Terry Brooks and the premiere did not disappoint!
Thank you, Andy. That’s two book fans who liked the series. That’s really encouraging.
