The CW is starting over on Monday nights. They’ve cancelled both Star-Crossed and The Tomorrow People after one season apiece.
On The Tomorrow People, a teenager (Robbie Amell) discovers that he has paranormal abilities. He also learns that others like him have gone into hiding because they’re being hunted by a paramilitary group of scientists known as Ultra. The rest of the cast includes Luke Mitchell, Peyton List, Aaron Yoo, Mark Pellegrino, and Madeleine Mantock.
The drama debuted back in October and aired on Wednesday nights, paired with the network’s popular Arrow series. It performed well in the beginning but the ratings fell over the course of the season, dropping as low as a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.24 million viewers.
The series moved to Monday nights and lost even more viewers. In last April, The Tomorrow People hit a series low, drawing just 760,000 viewers.
The season (now series) finale, which aired this week, left plenty of story opportunities for a second season but it won’t be happening.
What do you think? Are you sorry that there won’t be a second season of The Tomorrow People? Do you think it should have been cancelled?

Absolutely gutted!! So I have just found out it’s been cancelled! 🙁 Both me and my boyfriend have watched every episode of the first series and loved every one! Really gutted as they have left the last episode on such a cliffhanger! Have so many questions to what happens next and we both would have loved to see what happens!!! Such an amazing programme it’s been my favorite since the first episode!! It clearly has many loyal fans who have been really let down by its cancelation!!!!
BRING ON MORE TOMORROW PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved the show and they can’t end it with that ending 🙁
I can’t believe this. No second series. The tomorrow people has been my highlight every Wednesday. It’s by far the best science fiction program on the TV at the moment. To leave it with John (with new image and an apparent new identity)and jedikiah plotting to go after cara is a cliff hanger. Surely that is an indication there can be a second series. This series was starting to get a lot of talk on Facebook and other social networks.

Series 1 was fantastic. Couldn’t always watch it on the scheduled day but recorded every episode and watched them in my own time. I will be gutted if another or several other series are not made.
The Tomorrow People was one of my favourite TV programmes when I was a child and I was concerned when I heard it had been Americanised but decided to watch anyway. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it had been made and how quickly I once again became hooked on the remake of this childhood classic. Even my husband and daughter loved it. To now hear it has been scrapped is such a shame. Why bother making a series, allowing viewers to get into the show and behind the characters then stop it before it has really got started.… Read more »

I have just finished watching the last episode of The Tomorrow People and I complained to my husband that I hate the way these shows leave it on a cliffhanger when all you want to know is what happens next. I was so excited wanting to see the next series that I made my husband Google it to find out when it would be on and how long we would have to wait to see it. I was gutted to find out that there will not be a second series. This has been my favourite programme this year. Every Wednesday… Read more »
Real shame the series had been cancelled, was getting into it and looked forward to the next episodes.
If only CW listens to the shows fans and gives it another chance or hope another channel picks it up.
The tomorrow people has a great story line and is yet another promising show that has had it’s wings clipped early. It has the potential to be a second x-men with a cult following but sadly will not get its chance. These studios need to give shows a chance and give them a minimum of 2-3 seasons to really hit the ground running.
I am so upset to hear that the tomorrow people season 2 has been cancelled . This programme is great, with different twists to the plot every week. Me and my sons watch it together every week, it’s so rare to find a programme that is suitable for the whole family but still intense and child-like. I truly hope the tv station changes it’s mind and it can be televised in the uk again. Wednesday evenings will not be the same without it!
Really disappointed there wont be another series. Really annoys me that they even bothered to make it.
Angry is an understatement!!! So sick and tired of getting into what I thought was a really good series, for it to be cancelled. Actor’s were really good and not only were they easy to relate to it was refreshing to see a fresh face. I’ve said already but disappointed.
The tomorrow people need a bit more time and more promotion. In the United Kingdom it’s a big hit on E4, please CW give it another chance.
Bring on season two!!!!!!!!!!
Really enjoyed it and looked forward to series 2.im uk and just found out its cancelled absolutely gutted x
