Are you missing Showtime’s series about the reign of King Henry VIII of England, The Tudors? Well, the show’s not coming back but if you’re still upset about the show’s passing, you can recreate episodes or bring your own stories to life via a collection of dolls.
The new line of dolls by Madame Alexander are inspired by The Tudors. Miniature versions of King Henry VIII (Jonathan Rhys Meyer) and his queens — Katherine of Aragon (Maria Doyle Kennedy), Anne Boleyn (Natalie Dormer), Jane Seymour (Annabelle Wallis), Katherine Parr (Joely Richardson), Anne of Cleves (Joss Stone), and Katherine Howard (Tamzin Merchant) — will be released over the next year and are clothed in replicas of the series’ amazing costumes.
Fantasy doesn’t come cheap however — prices range from $129.95 to $159.95 for each 10″ doll.
The Alexander Doll Company is also releasing figures based on characters from Showtime’s The Borgias. Dolls in that line include Vannozza dei Cattanei (Joanne Whalley), Giulia Farnese (Lotte Verbeek), and Lucrezia Borgia (Holliday Grainger).
What do you think? Would you consider buying any of these dolls?
Why is it everytime a good show or series finally comes along that exciting and good to watch, it get thrown into the can. When are TV big wigs going to realize that the older, educated people watching are getting tired of funny and reality. We are living reality, how about some real entertainment!
